Happy Birthday!

Hi there! It's back to normal schedule for me today after a few days off and a busy weekend of birthday fun! Since yesterday was my birthday and this week is my turn to host The Shabby Tea Room challenge, I decided to entice you with this delicious cake and a theme of Chocolate Covered Autumn! I hope you are inspired by the cake, the colors, the flowers, the season...any and all would be lovely for this challenge! I used several images for this chocolate covered cake box creation including Squirrel's Little Acorn, Autumn Leaf and Acorn, Little Layered Flowers Mini Cuties and Round Leaf and Rose Bloom.

I started by creating this cake box from a template. Then I used a Fiskars punch to create a sort of icing edge at the top and then cut a piece for the center filling of the cake with brown cardstock. I colored the squirrel and all the flowers and leaves with copics and cut them out. Layering them up on top was the fun part! To make the squirrel stand up, I bent his feet forward and glued him in place. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and the pearls are from Recollections.
