Happy Monday! I know, it's Monday, but for me, Monday means a new challenge at The Shabby Tea Room and this week is very special. Our very own Clare has chosen the week's theme as Lavender and Lace and our sponsor is My Time Made Easy. Lauren has generously provided the design team with the All a Flutter template and Just For You sentiments which I used on my project.
I started by cutting out my template pieces on lavender paper and the accent pieces on this cute dp I found in my stash. Then I inked all my edges and assembled the pieces as closely as possible to the sample. I used some of Deb's great lilac seam binding to give it a shabby feel and topped it off with a brad that matched the pink in the dp. For the circles I used a button die to give them a little more interest. I tucked a little pair of earrings in this box and stuffed a little tissue paper in it the make it even more 'gifty!'
(In real life, my paper is not this dark, but the photo was taken outside in the shade and even photo enhancing would not allow me to get the proper color, so I apologize if my purple is not as lavender as it should be!)
Here is a small gift card to go along with the butterfly box. I cut out the sentiment from the sheet with a circle punch and colored it with a Copic marker to match the pink. After inking all my edges, I added a little lace and some more of Deb's seam binding. I finished it off with a few pink pearls and this great butterfly charm.
