Prayers Go Up...Blessings Come Down

Hi there! What better way to start your week than with a new Shabby Tea Room challenge!!! This week our theme is called "White and Bright" which means you can use white plus one other color for your creation! Our sponsor this week is Webster's Pages.

I made this card with a very special purpose in mind. Recently, a close friend of ours, who was very healthy and only 44 years old, moved to Florida for his job leaving his family here in PA until they were able to sell their home and move down there with him. He suddenly became very ill after the holidays and has been on life support for the last two weeks with his wife and parents at his side. We have been praying for his recovery and our community has come together to help care for their children and many have donated money in order to send the two teenage children to see their father on the weekends. We received some great news this past Friday that he is doing much better and although he is still on life support for his lungs, they are planning on him not needing it very soon. The message on this card takes on a special meaning and I plan to give this card to them when they return home with him.

Now, back to the card...I used the JustRite Kaleidoscope set and stamped it with Memento ink and cut it out using Spellbinders dies. The center is popped up to give it some dimension and I added a large gem in the center. I used my Heartfelt Creations flower dies to cut out several layers of my flower and then crinkled them and inked the edges for a little distressed look. A clear gem brad holds it together. The flourishes are also cut using Spellbinders dies. This all sits atop a piece of white cardstock that was scored with the Scor-Buddy in a diamond pattern. A pretty satin double bow gives it the finishing touch!
