Happy Father's Day...and a card!

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there today! Today I have a card that I made for my 90 year old Grandfather. I made an easel card because I know he likes to display the things people give him and this will make it easy for him. It's for several challenges too...The Play Date Cafe #34 is a color splash challenge which means black, white and a splash of blue, the Sweet Stampin Challenge #31 is Clean and Simple, the sketch is from the Cute Card Thursday Challenge 117 and the Raise the Bar Challenge #23 is called "What a Special Guy!" I think my grandfather is pretty special!

I started with BoBunny double dot paper in black and made the base of the card. The paper and square buttons are from Making Memories 5th Avenue collection. I used DCWV white cardstock, blue cardstock and the dp to mat the Impression Obsession sentiment which is stamped with StazOne jet black ink. The black twill serves the sketch well and gives the pop I needed. On the bottom is a Hampton Art stamp inked up with Memento tuxedo black ink and the papers are edged in this too. Another piece of twill and an AC button serve as the easel stand!

I think the clean lines of the sketch and the use of only one dp serves the purpose of Clean and Simple here. Oh, and this is my first easel card I have ever made...I can see why they are so popular and I know I'll be making plenty more in the future! I hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Sunday with all those Dads!
