a little birdie told me...

Good morning! A little birdie told me it's template week at the Just Us Girls Challenge, so here's a cute little set inspired by so many yummy things today! I was also able to incorporate a few other challenges into this little shabby project, so check them out below.

I used a template for this adorable little birdhouse that I found on Nichole's blog here...she's the owner of Papertrey Ink. There are so many great things on her blog...and in her store for that matter! I printed it out on textured "river rock" tan DCWV cardstock and then the rest was so much fun! I even made a little tag to go with...so cute! The tag is for Kard Krazy tag challenge to use red and green in a non holiday tag, but I also made both pieces work into The Shabby Tea Room's 1,2,3 challenge...one ribbon, two buttons, three dies or punches...and their sponsor is JustRite, so I used my 2" square decorative borders stamps to edge the roof line!

The papers are from the old Cosmo Cricket Dutch Girl line and I had a few scraps of that still hanging out in my craft room. They fit right into the Color Throwdown challenge colors and they are quite summery...so I used some old stash items and got this great little project...win, win! I really enjoyed inking up all the edges and adding the little touches that make this a comfy bird house.

Challenges:
The Shabby Tea Room #20 -One, Two, Three
Color Throwdown #103 - pictured above
Just Us Girls #43 - Template Week
Flutterby Wednesday #115 - open - butterfly, fairy or angel!
Tag Tuesday Challenge - Christmas "colors" in July
Pile It On #29 - stretch that plastic (buttons)
Creative Cottage Challenge #19 - touchy, feely!

Crafty Recipe:
Stamps: JustRite Square Decorative Frames, Hampton Art 'dream'
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Paper: Cosmo Cricket Dutch Girl, DCWV cardstock
Dies/Punches: Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Squares Lg. (base of birdhouse), EK Success small flower punch, Martha Stewart classic butterfly punch
Other: Making Memories lace ribbon, twine, buttons from my stash, Q & Co. pearls

I really hope you like it!
Have a great day - and thanks for stopping by!
