Hi There!

Hi there! See those little birds over there? I don't know what it is about them, but they sparked something in me that made me sit right down after two 12-hour days and make this card!  It's the Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger photo and I love it!

I have had this Stampendous stamp sitting on my desk just waiting to use it and this was the perfect opportunity! I just love the colors of those birds, so I colored my little friend to match and perched him on a MB die cut branch!  I added a couple layers of ribbon and a bow along with some punched flowers with pearl centers to match the flowers in the photo. I even added a little white tulle next to the bow since I didn't have a white feather! My sentiment is from Flourishes and it's stamped and folded over the top!

Thanks for taking a look!

Thank YOU!

I have been feeling very thankful lately! I am blessed by my family and friends both near and far and even the friendships I have made through this little hobby of mine! Recently, I was asked to join the Dirty Dozen at Splitcoaststampers.com and it's like a little dream of mine came true. I never thought I was even on the radar for something like that, but I am thrilled beyond words!

I had also applied for a design team position, and although I wasn't chosen, I received a huge compliment from one of their designers that really made me feel special! Maybe one day I'll get there! I also received some very sweet comments on my SCS announcement from some of my paper crafting idols...and I am very thankful for all the encouraging and warm thoughts being sent my way!

So, this card is for you! It's also for one of my favorite challenges, Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge where this past week was blue and green themed! I used the Lily of the Valley image from the Botanical Bookplates Vol. 2 set and colored it with Copics, cut it out using some Spellbinders dies and added my sentiment from the same set. Underneath, is a dp with the theme colors, an embossed panel along the bottom and it's all tied together with a bright, white ribbon and bow topped with a pearl brad. I added a few leaf sprigs cut with TE die and a couple of pearls to accent my sentiment!

Thanks for stopping by and look for my post later this week about my Blogaversary Giveaway...it's been 3 years already!

Follow Your Bliss

Just a quick post today...lots to do to get Julia ready for prom tomorow!

I had to get this one in...just under the wire too!  Flourishes May Colorful Creations Challenge has a gorgeous palette and I had to play along!

This sweet sentiment is from the Bees and Blooms set! Some pretty MME papers, a little ribbon and a gem flourish made this one come together flawlessly!

Thanks for stopping by and look for prom pictures in the near future!

Just Because...

Hi there! I've combined a couple of challenges today to create a card for someone I love! For the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge, It's All In The Date, since my birthday is in October, I needed to use at least two flowers and use something clear on my card!
Check and check!

First, I stamped my sentiment from the Flourishes Inside and Out Just Because set. I created a Spellbinders rolled rose using black cardstock and my background dp and added a couple of white flowers along with a clear butterfly! I colored behind the clear butterfly with a Copic to match the color splash color for The Play Date Cafe challenge...Magenta! There's the graphic over to the left. I added some ribbon and a bow, lots of blingy gem flourishes, and a little bit of tulle! Thanks for stopping by!

Anniversary Lenten Rose

Hi there! I made this little Anniversary card this weekend and wanted to share it with you. Last week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge is all about weddings. Although I don't have any weddings coming up, this is for a special friend's anniversary of their wedding day, so that'll have to do!

I used an image from the Lenten Rose set and masked off the glass vase. The large image was too big and the small image was just a flower, so this one is just right! I colored it with Copics, matted it with a peachy music sheet dp and added an embossed layer popped up slightly. The sweet sheer ribbon is tied with a knot and a couple of beaded pins are the finishing touch!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sending Cheery Wishes Your Way

Hi there! I just have enough time to get this springy card in for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Frame It challenge! I used my new release stamps I just won during the release challenge to make this pretty card. I just love using this color combination with my Flourishes floral stamps! It's one of my faves!

Here's one of the two corner stamps from the Spring Blossoms set stamped four times to make a frame! I colored it with Copics and added lots of layers, some gems in the corners and a sweet sheer bow!  The sentiment is from the Spring is Sprung set!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great day!

The Sweetness of Friendship

Hi there! I love, love, love release week at Flourishes! It's a chance to win the entire release and see some of the most beautiful stamps ever made!  This beauty is for the Flourishes Summer Lovin' Challenge!

I inked up this fabulous sentiment called Sweetness of Friendship and cut it out with my Spellbinders dies. I don't know about you but I always seem to want a layer in between the actual die sizes, so I wind up cutting it by hand! There's lots of layers of summery MME papers sewn on and even a double scalloped die cut border too!  I added a little ribbon and a triple sheer bow topped with a flowery brad! A little matching die cut peacock feather is peeking out to finish it off along with some pearls!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend!

Spring is Sprung!

Hi there! Right about now, I would give anything for Spring! We're expecting snow tonight and tomorrow and as far as I'm concerned it can stay far away, but I think it's gonna happen no matter what we wish!

So, since I needed to feel Springy... I found out that Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge is all about Spring ...perfect for me to play along with this weekend!  Here's my card...

I used the oh so perfectly named Spring Has Sprung stamp set, colored this sweet little birds nest with my Copics and fussy cut it all around!  My sentiment is stamped right onto a banner...the end of which is cut with the Tailor Made Classic Bookplate Template Die. All my edges are inked with dark brown chalk ink. I added an April calendar (hoping that it will be much more like Spring by then!), a little ruffled ribbon and some sheer ribbon and a big double bow topped with a BG brad!

Thanks for stopping by...I'm hoping to be playing along with my favorite challenges a bit more often, so you'll be seeing a little more from me again!

Celebrate Winter

Hi there! In my quest to stamp more "for fun," I am playing along with another one of my favorite challenges. I never realized how much I miss just getting lost in having fun stamping...I'm always trying to "fit in" the fun stamping, well, no more...I have to have fun right?!

I made this card for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge...and it's All About Winter! What better stamp set than the Seasonal Wreaths too! I wanted a cool feeling but a little shabby too so these colors were perfect for my card. I bought this window die at the stamp show last weekend and couldn't wait to give it a go! My wreath is fussy cut and hung with a little ribbon slipped through a slit cut in the middle.

I added some more ribbon and bows, some gems, a couple of snowflakes and curled wire accents! Thanks for taking a peek at my card today...have a great weekend!

Where Flowers Bloom...

Hi there! Can you believe that July is almost half over?! I don't know about you, but the days are just flying by! I've been so busy with work and DT assignments and driving my dd around that I haven't had the chance to play along at my favorite challenges. I just had to make some time today to play along over at Flourishes for their new release noon time challenges.   Here's a card I made for their Bold and Beautiful Challenge...

It's no secret that I like to use bold and beautiful colors on my cards and this one is no exception! I used the beautiful floral image from the Botanical Bookplates Vol. 2 stamp set along with the Tailor Maid Classic Bookplate Template Die.  My image is colored with Copics and I highlighted the flower centers with a bit of Diamond Stickles.  I added some ribbon and my sentiment stamped on music note dp and cut with the PTI banner die. a bit more ribbon at the top of the image mat and some pearls finish it off nicely!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Life's Sweet Fragrance

I have been so busy lately, I haven't had any time to just play, so I decided I needed to challenge myself to just have fun and not worry about deadlines and DT projects for one day! It worked and out I came with this beauty! I'm playing along with one of my favorite challenges too...Flourishes Timeless Tuesday and you need to use a floral image...I've definitely got something to use for this one!

I don't know what your crafty obsession is, but these days for me, it's My Mind's Eye paper and Flourishes stamps. I have stacks of MME 6x6 pads and I've purchased quite a bit of the newest Flourishes stamps and haven't had the time to ink them up...and that has got to change! So, here's one from last month's release called Mother's Words of Wisdom. I colored these gorgeous flowers with my Copics and fussy cut the image by hand. It's backed by a wreath shape cut with the Spellbinders Picot Circles dies.

Although there are some great sentiments with the image set, I needed this card for another occasion, so I paired it up with this pretty sentiment from the Botanical Bookplates Vol. 1 set! I popped it up in the middle to resemble a banner.

I used some of my favorite lacey look papers from the Miss Caroline collection by MME and added soem sheer ribbon and a big bow, some pearls in pink and white and a sweet two layer butterfly topped with a pearl body!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Botanical Bookplate Bookmark

How's that for alliteration! Hi there! I wish I had more time to play along with my favorite challenges these days, but I couldn't resist one of the Flourishes Release Week Noon-Time Challenges called The Bookworm Challenge! You see, I have a bookworm that lives in my house...her name is Julia and she is my 14 year old daughter!

I was inspired by this bright plaid ribbon so I invented a little sliding bookmark with a tiny little topper! To the left you can see what's under my Botanical Bookplates Vol. 1 image. To get the shape I outlined the outside edge of the Tailor-Made Classic Bookplate Template die and cut it out by hand. Then I cut two slits and slid the ribbon behind them.

My image is colored with Copics and I dabbed a little orange Stickles in the centers of my flowers then attached it to the center of my background. I used the die again to cut out both green and white, folded them over and stamped just the outline of the image on top. I added a little gem since it will be sticking out of the top of the book and it doesn't have to be flat.  The image and background can slide up and down on the ribbon!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday!

Hi there! I'm heading to a surprise 40th birthday party later tonight, so yesterday I sat down and played with some of my new goodies from Flourishes! I decided to use the current Timeless Tuesday Challenge too...the theme this week is a sketch! The Bring Back Beautiful theme is Spring, so it works for that too!

I scaled my card down instead of making a big and tall card, so this one is just 3"x6"! I used some pretty DCWV papers and added shades of purple and green...one of my favorite color combos!

I knew the second I saw this Magnolias stamp set that I HAD to have it! I've colored the small corner magnolia image from the set with Copics and cut it out carefully. Underneath is a corner made up of two of the magnolia leaves border image. There's some Marianne die flourishes, ribbon and a sparkly bow and lots of gems! I added some Stickles to the center of the flower too. My sentiment is from the Botanical Bookplates Vol. 1 set which is new too!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Wherever You Are...

Hi there! One of my resolutions this year was to get back to playing along with my favorite challenges and I'm doing just that!

Here's a beauty I made for the Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful Challenge. This month's theme is The Beauty of Bling! I started with this image that I started coloring quite some time ago...it's not like me to not finish something, but something must have happened to make me stop. Whatever the reason, I had some time today to finish it up and create a card for a dear friend of mine!

I used several Flourishes sets for this one... the image is from Sweet Violets, the sentiment is from Windows to the World and the little decorative flourish next to the sentiment is from the Seeds of Friendship set!

The image is colored with Copics and then cut out using the 'outside the box' method...or oval in this case! I embossed and inked my background paper, added a layer of vellum for my sentiment and topped it with a silky green ribbon and bow. The black bling by Want 2 Scrap was the perfect size and shape for this card!

Oh how I have missed playing along with the talented ladies at Flourishes, but I'm back now! Have a great weekend!

To My Wonderful Friend!

Hi there! I have no idea where the morning went today...I've been cleaning and crafting the day away, but I forgot to tell you the great news...Hobby Lobby opened up right down the street in Hanover!!! Whoo Hoo! I'm so happy I don't have to drive 1 1/2 hours to the nearest one anymore! Yay! I was there on Wednesday right after they opened and I ran into my crafty friend Julie from Paper and Such and I heard that Janice was already there too! We'll have to meet up for some shopping and lunch sometime girls!

I have another card for you today. I began a huge clean up of my craft room and so I just had to sit down in my straightened up space and play along with my favorite challenges since I have the whole house to myself today! I used one of my favorite Flourishes sets too...Butterflies & Blossoms! I followed the Card Patterns sketch from last Saturday and three in a row elements from Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Bingo card!

I started with this pretty TCP Studio dp and added some lace, my squares and a nifty little Melissa Frances frame. I colored my butterfly with Copics and cut it out, popped it up and made it look like it's flying right in the frame! My sentiment is from the same set and it's stamped on kraft and popped up too then tied up with some rustic twine. Some pearls in the corners and Prima flowers make this one complete!

Challenges:
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #133 - Bingo - Prima Flowers, Pearls and Edge/Color Distressing
Card Patterns Sketch 130 - Sketch
CR84FN 37 - Turquoise, Light Blue and Neutral (see graphic)

Thanks for taking a peek today...have a fabulous weekend!

Happy Birthday Flourishes Stamps!

Flourishes is lighting the candles and getting ready to sing to honor their 4th Birthday! And, as a way to celebrate, I’m happy to say I was hand-picked to help them have a bit of a party as a designer for their customer appreciation hop! The only challenge here was to create a card or project using my favorite Flourishes stamp set. Read on...I’ll tell you how you can win some Flourishes goodies too!

If you arrived here by way of Linda's Blog, then you are on the right path! If I was your first stop, you’ll want to go back to the Flourishes Blog to and start this hop from the very beginning!

Here's what I made to celebrate Flourishes 4th Birthday...

I have to be honest, choosing just one favorite Flourishes stamp set was pretty difficult for me! But, for the sake of this birthday celebration hop, I have chosen my 'go to' set called Seasonal Wreaths! This beautiful rose wreath is just one of four gorgeous wreaths in the set! You get a bunch of great sentiments too...like the one I stamped in a row across my card.

First, I couldn't decide on pink or purple, so I decided on both and I colored my wreath image with my Copics. Then, I decided to fussy cut all around it...and even in the center. Thank goodness I have good eyesight! The background is embossed with the Cuttlebug Leafy Branch embossing folder...just in case you were wondering. I added some wide pink ribbon and lots of bling 'flourishes'! (btw, I'm sorry that my ribbon looks crooked on this photo, but no matter how many times I adjusted it and try to make my ribbon look straight, it just doesn't want to photograph nicely at an angle, so I decided to stop messing with it and leave it be! I always say...it is what it is!)

Wanna know what can you win by hopping along? Take a peek at this fun and festive blog candy!

If you’d like to learn more about how you can win all of these stamp sets, just click HERE to read up on today’s hop and challenge! You have until September 1st at 5PM CST to enter!

Next up on the hop…. Yogi Grunwald! I'm sure there's something beautiful to see there!

Have a great day and thanks for 'hopping' by!

The Sweet Days of Summer at The Shabby Tea Room!

Hi there and Happy Monday! The Shabby Tea Room Challenge is new today! Don't you just love the shades of peach, pink and green in this gorgeous inspiration photo?! I know I do! Well, you get to use these beautiful colors on your card or project along with a handmade flower! Our theme is called The Sweet Days of Summer! Our wonderful sponsor this week is Paper Pretties!

I just love this color combination and I knew I had the perfect Graphic 45 papers to go with it! I colored this pretty Roses image with Copics, fussy cut all around it and mounted it on this Spellbinders shape. I also hand cut the green border shape since I thought the next size Nestie was too large. I followed the sketch for the SCS August Fan Club monthly theme and added some lace, pearls, rolled roses created with a MFT die and a pearl flourish. My sentiment is from Rubbernecker Stamps and I stamped the ends of the sentiment paper with one of the layers of the birthday cake in the Flourishes Let Them Eat Cake set!

I hope you'll join us for this fun challenge!

Hello!

Hello! Just popping in with this pretty little card I made for the Flourishes Scavenger Hop Challenge! It was so much fun hopping to all the designers blogs to get the clues for the recipe to make my card! I was so happy to see that each one was right up my alley!

I've used the Mix-n-Mugs set for my card today! This set has so many sweet little sentiments in the prettiest font! I chose to paper piece my mug and add some shading with my Copics. The flowers are also colored with Copics. There's a little bling in the flower centers too! I used some MME dps and added a double layer butterfly with some bling, a few pearls and a sheer ribbon and bow!

There's still time to play along. Thanks for stopping by today!
