A Pink Christmas Card...

I had planned to have this posted this morning, but life happens and things don't always go as planned! I had to get to work and forgot to email this to myself so I could do it there...so here I am...since there is nothing on TV except voting results!

I think this is my first actual pink Christmas card I have ever made and I love it. I see so many non-traditional Christmas cards, but I always find myself gravitating toward the classic colors.

I made this card using the JustRite Friday Challenge sketch and do you see that handmade fabric flower?...well, you can make your own by using my crafty friend and fellow DT member Clare's tutorial HERE at The Hybrid Chick. The Just Us Girl challenge is to make a fabric flower... so now is the time to try it out!

This card started as a traditional Christmas card when I stamped this JustRite sentiment from the Christmas Nested Sentiments and Verse set on Neenah ivory paper. Then it went in a totally different direction! I was sitting at my work table staring at these beautiful roses on this Graphic 45 paper and I just had to use it. So, I got out another JustRite set...Kaleidoscope...and added a half image to each side of my sentiment. Then I broke out the Spellbinder lace die and some matching pink DCWV paper and added a few pearls to match the pearl in the center of the flower.

Of course, I love making bows, so out came one of my faves...this green gingham ribbon which is perfect for the Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful 4 challenge. I inked all my edges and popped up my sentiment to finish it. The vellum under the lace paper border is also printed with a swirl design (but it's hard to see in the pic).

Challenges:
JustRite Friday Challenge 042 - sketch
4 Crafty Chicks #9 - dies or punches
Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful 4 - ribbon

Edit: This card won Honorable Mention at the JustRite Friday Challenge 042!
