A Pink Christmas Card...

I had planned to have this posted this morning, but life happens and things don't always go as planned! I had to get to work and forgot to email this to myself so I could do it there...so here I am...since there is nothing on TV except voting results!

I think this is my first actual pink Christmas card I have ever made and I love it. I see so many non-traditional Christmas cards, but I always find myself gravitating toward the classic colors.

I made this card using the JustRite Friday Challenge sketch and do you see that handmade fabric flower?...well, you can make your own by using my crafty friend and fellow DT member Clare's tutorial HERE at The Hybrid Chick. The Just Us Girl challenge is to make a fabric flower... so now is the time to try it out!

This card started as a traditional Christmas card when I stamped this JustRite sentiment from the Christmas Nested Sentiments and Verse set on Neenah ivory paper. Then it went in a totally different direction! I was sitting at my work table staring at these beautiful roses on this Graphic 45 paper and I just had to use it. So, I got out another JustRite set...Kaleidoscope...and added a half image to each side of my sentiment. Then I broke out the Spellbinder lace die and some matching pink DCWV paper and added a few pearls to match the pearl in the center of the flower.

Of course, I love making bows, so out came one of my faves...this green gingham ribbon which is perfect for the Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful 4 challenge. I inked all my edges and popped up my sentiment to finish it. The vellum under the lace paper border is also printed with a swirl design (but it's hard to see in the pic).

Challenges:
JustRite Friday Challenge 042 - sketch
4 Crafty Chicks #9 - dies or punches
Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful 4 - ribbon
Just Us Girls #57 - Technique - make a fabric flower

Happy Halloween!

Hi there! I have another card to share today...it's cute and fun and that's what we need right now on a rainy Monday here! I used this adorable witch who is obviously on her way to a party! She is called Spooky Birthday from Tiddly Inks and you can get her here! Their challenge ending today is to use Diamond Glaze or Crackle and as you can see from my inset pic, I went for the glossy on both the cake and the gift bag!

I colored her with copics and I have to say I am still not a fan of coloring black on images, but I am learning! I couldn't wait to use this funky plaid Halloween ribbon! This paper is just too cute with all the candy and goodies! Of course I had to add a sparkly crow and a little star charm to bling it up a bit...oh and there's yellow Stickles on her hat too! The sentiment is from The Cutting Cafe' Halloween This and That Set! A few colored pearls and tada!

Wish You Were Here...

I hope you are having a great evening! I just wanted to share this card that I made for all those Fall challenges out there right now. I have been wanting to ink up my new Flourishes stamp sets and I am so glad I chose this one to start with tonight! It's call Windows to the World and I love to color the inside of windows with that warm glow. It just feels so cozy. I am also loving this new K & Co. paper pad. The leaves, Fall colors, plaid and the swirls are right up my alley! I got this ribbon on the clearance rack too!

My First Cutting Cafe Creation!

Edit: This project was chosen as a Flourishes True Beauty at Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful 2 Challenge - Rustic Beauty, Top 5 at Meljen's and was featured at the Create: blog!

I was going to wait a few days to spread the news, but it was announced on The Cutting Cafe' blog today and I can't keep it in any longer! I applied for the DT thinking there was little chance I would make it, but to my surprise, Regina contacted me last week and gave me the news! I made it! You have no idea how excited I was to hear that I would be creating with her awesome (and big!) design team for the next few months and using all of her wonderful digital stamps and templates!

My first creation for The Cutting Cafe' is this Fall inspired Leaf Shaped Card. The set comes with the card base template, the leaf shape template and two sentiments. I cut out the card base on dark brown cardstock and the card shape using K & Co. dp paper with these rich colored leaves on it. Then I cut out the six larger leaves from the same paper, inked all the edges in ColorBox Chestnut Roan and folded them in half to give them some dimension. I used my Sizzix Bigz Die - Hello Kitty Flower Bouquet to cut out the swirls using the dark brown cardstock.

The round sentiment is also from the Leaf Shaped Card cutting file. I cut it out using a Fiskars punch and inked the edges with Chestnut Roan then inked the center with Ranger Distress Tea Dye for an aged look. The smaller leaves and acorns are from a coordinating K & Co. dimensional sticker set. I added a dark brown organdy bow and some Ranger Distress Stickles in Vintage Photo to the edges of the swirls for a little sparkle. A brown pearl in the center of the acorns finished it off! (The inset picture is a back view so you can see the shape of the card without embellishments)

We are never alone...

Good morning - it's so beautiful here in Southern PA today and I am off for 3 days...the kids are at school and the hubby is on a golf trip so you know what that means?!!!!! Lots of ME time this weekend!

Remember I told you I went to a stamp show last weekend...well, here is one of the stamp sets I purchased from a CTMH booth. I was so drawn to these pretty flowers and this beautiful sentiment that I just had to have it.

This card has a lot of things going on too...I heat embossed the background with PTI Flourishes stamps, embossed the circle mat as well as all the pieces of patterned paper. Then I inked up the dp's to bring out the pattern of the embossing. I just love this ruffly ribbon from Spare Parts too!
If you look closely you can see some blinginess from Stickles as I made my own glitter paper!

I really hope you like it!

Paper Sundaes with Belles n' Whistles!

Good Morning - I hope your weekend is going great! I'll be working later today, but right now it's time for another challenge at Paper Sundaes Challenge blog. You won't want to miss what the Design Team has in store for you this week. Our sponsor is Belles n' Whistles and the challenge is an easy one - you just need to use at least 3 embellishments! You can definitely handle that - right! Belles n' Whistles has the most beautiful images by Elisabeth Bell ...you will want the whole collection when you see how great they are!

I used the Belles n' Whistles Cupcake image this week...isn't she sweet! And how cute is that little kitty! I chose to combine this card with a few (wink!) other challenges, so here it goes.

Since I decided to use the Color Throwdown colors this week, I began by coloring her with some pretty bright colors of copics and cut her out with my Spellbinders scalloped ovals dies. I also folded a piece of cardstock and cut it out witht the same size die leaving just the edge uncut and mounted my image onto this smaller flap on the front - you can see this in the inset picture! It's like a card on top of a card! I added a little bling to her hat, shirt and cupcake with some Stickles.
Can you get enough embossing? I can't - so I embossed my papers using a Cuttlebug Heritage set embossing folder and inked the green cardstock to bring out the embossed pattern. A little yummy lacey ribbon that matches perfectly leads to a ticket stamped with a Papertrey Ink sentiment...the inside sentiment is PTI too! The cupcake stamp inside is from Our Craft Lounge and also has some blingy Stickles on it.

Here come the embellishments - three beautiful hydrangea flowers from Prima with some Basic Grey brads! How easy was that! Okay, so now you need to head on over to the Paper Sundaes challenge blog and see for yourself!
