Home Sweet Nest
Hi there! While I'm traveling home from visiting the college my son will attend next year, you get to see my card for this week's Paper Sundaes Challenge! Our sponsor is Simon Says Stamp and our theme is Embossing! I decided to get my shabby chic on with this one...it's one of my favorite styles!
I love birds and bird nests, so as soon as I saw this Impression Obsession stamp set, I had to have it! You can find it at Simon Says Stamp...it's called Home Sweet Nest! I colored my image with Copics of course! Did you see my embossing...yep, it's up there on the Spellbinders Labels Two die cut shape...embossed with the Birds and Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder. I stamped it with the background stamp that comes with this set before embossing it and brushed it with ink after embossing it to bring out the detail. Lots of shabby goodies layered up here...velvet ribbon and double bow, lace, distressed edges and a pretty pearl flourish! The center of the bow is a Recollections flower center...I just love those!
Don't forget to stop by the Paper Sundaes Challenge and see what the rest of the Design Team has to show you!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteOh, this is such a sweet card in the shabby chic style! I'm a lover of stamps with birds & their cages, houses, nests, etc. I'll have to check out this set.
ReplyDeleteBummer! Home Sweet Nest is out of stock!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a beautiful and elegant card! I love the colors and the distressing. I love your flourish. Did you make it, or did it come that way? Love the embossing, too. Hugs, dj1952
ReplyDeletePS, I hope you don't mind if I "borrow" the way you did your cut out of the embossed paper and then distressing it. I'll definitely give you the credit for the idea. I've got several sympathy cards to do, and I know that would look awesome on some of them. Hugs again, dj1952
