A Special Day at Paper Sundaes!

Hi there! Today is a very special day for two reasons...First, it's a Birthday Celebration theme at Paper Sundaes! I'm honoring one of the blog owners, Christine, since her birthday was last week and you'll never guess how old she was! Secondly, it's my last official post as a Sundae Girl.

This week our sponsor is Simon Says Stamp and you can get this adorable Nellie Snellen image there...it's called Dawn with Birthday Cake...and she is so stinkin' cute! She's colored with Copics, cut out with Spellbinders circle dies and matted with the some BoBunny Double Dot in green and Spellbinders Lacey Circle dies using BoBunny Double Dot in pink. Those giant numbers are from Papertrey Ink and are hanging like a little ornament from a sparkly blue ribbon. There's some roses, flourishes and some pearls of course! Here's a look at the inside of my card...the sentiment is from My Favorite Things!

What Birthday Celebration would be complete without a little gift? I made this little box to match using The Cutting Cafe's Long Window Box. I used the same Basic Grey Urban Prairie dp and added an acetate panel on the window. It's dressed up using some of the same embellishments to match the card!

Here's the set...what's in the box is going to be a surprise for the birthday girl, so I made a sleeve around it to hold the embellies...that way, I can open it up and fill the box and put it all back together easily!

I would just like to say how thankful I am for the team at Paper Sundaes for being there when I needed them and all the positive encouragement I have received from them during my time on the DT. They are a very special group of women who are talented, kind and generous! I will truly miss them and I hope to keep in touch in blogland often! (hint, hint ladies!)

Wanna join in the fun celebrating Christine's birthday and win a prize too? Check out all the details at Shana's blog!

Be sure to stop by the Paper Sundaes Challenge to see what the rest of the Design Team has to show you and meet the new DT ladies as well...they're fabulous! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

...because I Love You Mom...

Happy Mother's Day again! It's time for a new Paper Sundaes challenge...this week's theme is Magical/Mystical Worlds and our sponsor is Pink Cat Studios!

This super cute image is called Fairy Lily on Swing and she's colored with Copics in fun colors to match my BG paper. Her fairy wings are covered with glitter for a little sparkle! I decorated the corner with some pretty roses and flourishes cut with Spellbinders dies. There's a sweet sentiment from the Ditto line by Studio G and little MS punched butterfly with some gems all topped off by a silk bow and sparkly brad!

Stop by the Paper Sundaes Challenge and see what the rest of the Design Team has to show you!

Friends Forever

Hi there and Happy Sunday! Are you ready for a real challenge...check out today's Paper Sundaes challenge... Favorite Hair Color ... yep, you read that right...we're challenging you to use your favorite hair color on your card or project!

I chose this sweet image from the Home Grown collection at Sugar Nellie called Purrfect Playmates. I love light brown hair with highlights, so I pulled out my Copics and used E51, E33, E35 and E57 on her hair. I start with my lightest color when I do hair and work outward. The darkest color is only used in small areas where the shadows would be and I use light flicking strokes.

I layered up lots of paper on this card including this pretty dp by My Minds Eye and added some zigzag stitching, pearls, a sheer and satin ribbon and bow, mini rose, a button in place of the yoyo and some flourishes. My sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

Go ahead and give it a try...and stop on over at the Paper Sundaes Challenge and see the favorite hair color of the rest of the Design Team!

You're Sweet!

Happy Easter! ...and if you don't celebrate Easter, well then...Happy Sunday to you! I've been very busy preparing dinner for our family Easter gathering since yesterday, but I had to stop in and share my card for the Paper Sundaes Challenge! This week's theme is one of my favorites...The Sundae Bar...you make your project and choose at least TWO of these toppings...yellow, glitter, die cuts and pearls! Our sweet sponsor this week is Stamp and Create!

This cute image hasn't seen ink in a while, so I decided she needed to come out and play! She's called Sweet Kiki la Rue by CC Designs! She is colored with Copics and her dress is paper pieced with the same MME strawberry paper in the bcakground. I added a little Stardust Stickles to her ice cream and layered her up with a pretty little rose and some Spellbinders die cut flourishes. There's zigzag stitching all around both panels and some pearls finish off the corners!

Stop by the Paper Sundaes Challenge blog to see what sundae toppings the rest of the Design Team is using this week! Have a wonderful day!

Happy Easter

Good Morning! I've got a million things to do today, but there's always time on Sunday to share my card for the Paper Sundaes Challenge! This week's sponsor is Simon Says Stamp and our theme is Texture!

I was so excited to ink up this super cute My Favorite Things stamp called One Sweet Chick! I just love the sweet little Pure Innocence girl! She's colored with Copics and her dress and egg are paper-pieced! I cut her out so she could sit upon these three popped up layers of plaid and green grass cut with the MFT grass die. I love the texture the grass blades give to this card. There's more texture up in the sky with my felt clouds cut with the PTI cloud dies. I just added a few pearls and some MFT ribbon tied in a knot! My layout is this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch #15.

Be sure to stop by the Paper Sundaes Challenge to see what the rest of the Design Team has to share with you today. And while you're there, join us for our Texture challenge sponsored by Simon Says Stamp!

the little things...

Hi there! It's Sunday already...I can't believe another week (and weekend) flew by so fast! One good thing about Sundays...it's Paper Sundaes Challenge day! This week we have a fabulous new sponsor...it's Mo's Digital Pencil Shop and our theme this week is Childhood Memories! I joked with our DT that I don't actually have any 'childhood memories' of being in a teacup (lol), but I chose to use this adorable Teacup Fairy image that I had. It was mostly colored and since I can't focus on the fine lines quite yet because of my eye issue, I just had to finish it up a bit and it was ready to go! My sweet fairy is colored with Copics of course and cut out with a circle die and matted with a scalloped circle die...both from Spellbinders...and all the edges are inked with Antique Linen Ranger Distress Ink. I layered her up with this gorgeous Pink Paislee paper and added a bow of vintage seam binding from Deb's Simple Treasures Etsy shop, a corner filled with roses and leaves and a few pearls! My sentiment is from a Unity Itty Bitty set. Be sure to stop by the Paper Sundaes Challenge blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has to show you...you don't want to miss these cuties! I hope you'll join us for the challenge while you're there! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by today! Challenges: Mos' #77 - How Does Your Garden Grow?

Paper Sundaes meets Lili of the Valley

Hi there! I hope you are having a great weekend! It's Sunday and that means it's time for a new Paper Sundaes Challenge! This week, our fabulous sponsor is Lili of the Valley and we want to see some Spring Blossoms! I am sooo ready for Spring...now if we could just get Mother Nature to cooperate and stop sending us cold weather!

As soon as I saw this adorable Teddy Bears Picnic image, I just had to use it...it's so sweet! I colored it with Copics and added quite a bit of a background with my sky and grass. I used one of my favorite Spellbinders dies to cut it out and popped it up on top of a pretty doily and a couple of layers of cardstock. Then I added a striped ribbon and my Spring blossoms...a Prima rose and two little flowers with pearl centers. My sentiment is from Flourishes.

Be sure to stop by the Paper Sundaes Challenge blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has for you to see...and join in on the Spring Blossoms challenge while you're there for your chance to win a prize from Lili of the Valley!

A Card for Mom...

See this pretty picture?! It's our photo inspiration for this week's Paper Sundaes Challenge! Use it to create your card or project and play along for a chance to win a great prize from Michelle's Scrapbooking & More! Michelle's carries several products that I used on my card, including Copics and Spellbinders Nestabilities!

I was inspired by the flowers and the colors, so I used my new Papertrey Ink Friendship Jar Spring Fillers and chose the tulips image. I colored these beautiful flowers with Copics and added a pretty polka dotted satin bow that looks like it's holding the bouquet together! The tag is made using a PTI die and an oval Spellbinders die. The yellow dp in the background is from October Afternoon and the dotted dp is BoBunny. I just added some pearls and let the colored image take center stage on this one! My sentiment is from PTI's Delightful Dahlia set.

Stop by the Paper Sundaes Challenge to see what the rest of the Design Team has created using this beautiful inspiration photo! I hope you'll join us for the challenge while you're there!

Home Sweet Nest

Hi there! While I'm traveling home from visiting the college my son will attend next year, you get to see my card for this week's Paper Sundaes Challenge! Our sponsor is Simon Says Stamp and our theme is Embossing! I decided to get my shabby chic on with this one...it's one of my favorite styles!

I love birds and bird nests, so as soon as I saw this Impression Obsession stamp set, I had to have it! You can find it at Simon Says Stamp...it's called Home Sweet Nest! I colored my image with Copics of course! Did you see my embossing...yep, it's up there on the Spellbinders Labels Two die cut shape...embossed with the Birds and Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder. I stamped it with the background stamp that comes with this set before embossing it and brushed it with ink after embossing it to bring out the detail. Lots of shabby goodies layered up here...velvet ribbon and double bow, lace, distressed edges and a pretty pearl flourish! The center of the bow is a Recollections flower center...I just love those!

Don't forget to stop by the Paper Sundaes Challenge and see what the rest of the Design Team has to show you!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

About my card...I used this super sweet a la mode set called Take Time...of course she's colored with Copics! I really did keep it simple with this one...just a ribbon, bow and three pearls! Yep, that's it...it was so hard not to do more, but I really like how this turned out! The dp is from one of the new MME Stella & Rose collections.

You Rock My World!

Hi there! I hope you are enjoying your weekend...I know I am! It's Sunday and that means it's time for another Paper Sundaes Challenge! This week, our theme is Stripes and our fabulous new sponsor is Tiddly Inks! I just love Christy's images and I know you will too, so play along for your chance to win!

This Tiddly Inks image is called Supah Star! I just love her star-shaped glasses and her super cool outfit! I colored her with Copics and then I whipped out the WRMK Tiffany's papers for this one...they sparkle and shine and have such fun colors! (I tried something new and tried my hand at super star platinum blonde hair!) You can find the stripes for this challenge in the dp and the star I positioned around my sentiment. The sentiment is a digi from the Wild Side Ticket Sentiments by Raindrop Echo Designs at Whimsy Stamps! A pink bow, sparkly star and some gems are the finishing touches on this one! I also added a little Stickles to her cool shades and her outfit!

Stop by the Paper Sundaes Challenge blog to see what else the Design Team has created using Tiddly Inks images - some super cute inspiration for sure!

Rain or Shine...

Hi there! I just have some time before I head out to work today to show you my card for the new Paper Sundaes Challenge! Our theme this week is How Charming and our fabulous sponsor is Stamp and Create!

I used this oh-so-sweet image called Love You Sis for my card today! First, I colored these two sweeties with Copics and then paper-pieced the umbrella with this fun polka dotted paper. I have lots of this Making Memories Chelsea's Place paper collection left over from a scrapbooking project and thought it was about time I use it. My sentiment is from Taylored Expressions A Year of Sweet Sentiments set.

Have you noticed I've been using die cut swirls and flourishes on everything lately?! I have! Well, this one has some Sizzix swirls, a few pretty flowers with a fresh green brad center and of course...my heart charm! At the bottom is a denim brad and a couple of gems. I added the demin brad to pick up on the denim colors in the girls' outfits! I think it works!

Be sure to stop by the Paper Sundaes Challenge to see what the rest of the Charming projects the Design Team has made...I just know you'll love them!

A Tickled Pink Happy Birthday!

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! It's time again for the Sundae Bar at the Paper Sundaes Challenge! What's the Sundae Bar, you ask? It's when you get to pick your Sundae Toppings for your project! You have your choice of any two or all of them from Pink, Lace, Flowers and Distressing!

Our fabulous sponsor this week is the one and only Tickled Pink Stamps! If you play along, you could win TWO Tickled Pink digis of your choice! So what are you waiting for...check this out!

I chose this oh so sweet image called Lil Birthday - Kellita (designed especially for Kelly, the owner of Tickled Pink stamps!) She's colored with Copics and her long shaped allows her to be placed perfectly into this layout which is the sketch from the Mojo Monday challenge this week!

These are also some of my favorite colors...and this BoBunny line is still hanging around in my stash! I added some pink in my flowers and attached them with a Basic Grey brad atop a BoBunny sticker. There's two of the Sundae Toppings - pink and flowers! I added some little pink and brown pearls and a another pink BG brad holding on my sentiment by Verve Stamps! The sentiment is cut using a Spellbinders labels die set. All of my edges are inked with brown for a bit of distressing!

Coffee and friends...and a Winner!

Hi there! I'd like to thank everyone who participated in last week's Paper Sundaes Birthday Celebration Blog Hop! I need to announce the winner of my blog candy too! Before I do that, let me tell you about today's new Paper Sundaes Challenge! Our theme this week is De-stressing so we are asking you to distress your card...that could mean distressing anything on your project...using ink, scissors...whatever you like! Our sponsor this week is Simon Says Stamp!

I have had this CC Designs image called Cocoa Emma for some time now and never inked it up...until now! You can find her at Simon Says Stamp...HERE! I colored her with Copics and stamped a little scalloped edge for her to sit upon! All of my edges are distressed using a distressing tool and then they were distressed with ink. My sentiment is from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I used a bit of rose trim, twisted it and curled it into this fabulous little flower topped with a Prima bling center! It is mounted on a die cut I received as a gift a long time ago. A bit of ribbon and a few pearls here and there are all this little girl needed!

Now for the winner of my Paper Sundaes Blog Hop blog candy...I had over 100 comments on my post at the time of the draw! I used a random number generator to get the winner...and that person is...auntbeespickles (Sarah Taylor)... please email me (in my sidebar) with your snail mail address so I can send you your new MFT stamp set!

Be sure to stop by the Paper Sundaes Challenge to see what the rest of the design team has created to show you...and to see the winners of the Blog Hop prizes! Have a great Sunday!

Paper Sundaes Birthday Blog Hop and Blog Candy!

Happy Sunday and welcome to the Paper Sundaes 1st Birthday Celebration Blog Hop!

If you have arrived here from Tracy's blog, then you are on the right track! If not, you can start at Paper Sundaes Challenge Blog and hop along so that you don't miss out on any of the gorgeous creations from the Sundae Girls (and for your chance to win some yummy candy)!

Remember to collect a WORD at each stop and comment at each stop so you are entered for some amazing prizes! Your last stop will be back at the beginning where you can leave all the WORDS you collected along the way for your chance to win even more!

Our challenge this week is extra special - we would like you to show us your favorite challenge from the past year! And to celebrate, we have FIVE different prizes for FIVE randomly drawn winners!

My card is using the theme from PSC18 which is the week we made
Easel Fold Cards. I am also using an image from one of our fabulous sponsors...Lili of the Valley...she's called New Hat! I've colored it with Copics and matted it several times on coordinating cardstock. I stamped this on bright white paper and then decided that I really wanted my background to match, so I decided to color the entire background of the image with my Egg Shell Copic marker!

The papers are from October Afternoon's Thrift Shop collection. I cut out some leaves with a Sizzix die and added them to this sticker element from the Thrift Shop collection. I added a few pearls and a sheer ribbon and the front of the card is done!

For the inside (or bottom of the easel card), I layered some patterned paper and cardstock and cut a decorative edge with a Martha Stewart scalloped eyelet edge punch. I added pearls in between the scallops to 'hold' my card open. You can use so many things to accomplish this, but the little pearls hold it back evenly! The label is also from the same paper collection and is stamped with a Lili of the Valley sentiment. Just a couple more pearls finish it off perfectly!

I'd like to celebrate by offering a little blog candy too! One lucky, random commenter from this blog post will win this fabulous My Favorite Things a la mode stamp set! I will pick the winner on Saturday, January 23rd!

The word you need to collect here is "TO." Your next stop on our blog hop is Lisa's blog and I'm sure she will have something very special for you to see!

It's Your Birthday!

Hi there! How do you top your Sundays? Hopefully with a Paper Sundaes Challenge! This week our fabulous sponsor is Lili of the Valley...one of my favorite stamp companies! Our theme is CIRCLES! You can cut out your image in a circle, use a circle for your sentiment, use patterned paper with circles on it, circular embellishments...the possibilities are endless!

I have had this Balloon Bunny image for some time and have never used it...what was I waiting for? He is absolutely adorable and I loved coloring him up with some Copics and paper-piecing his balloon!

I used my Spellbinders Circles and Scalloped Circles dies to cut it out leaving the balloon to pop up over the circle! The sentiment is from Verve and is cut with the same die sets. I have also been hoarding this cute cupcake paper for a long time and I finally broke down and used it...know what I mean? It's all layered on the glitter polka dotted paper and topped off with a simple ribbon and bow and some pearls in the corners!

Perfect for one of my daughter's friends when she is rummaging for a card at the last minute before a party!

Be sure to stop by the Paper Sundaes Challenge and see what the rest of the Design Team as well as a few guests from the Lili of the Valley Design Team have to show you!

Hi There!

Good Morning...again! Are you ready for a new Paper Sundaes Challenge 'cause I am! It's a New Year and a new challenge, so show us something NEW! Our newest sponsor is Michelle's Scrapbooking & More where you can find a ton of papercrafting supplies to start your year off right! Be sure to join us for your chance at a great prize!

I love pink and green and I love birdcages, so this card so very ME! What's NEW you ask...well, this is the first time I used this Impression Obsession stamp set called Tweet Life. I stamped it and colored it with Copics here and there and cut it out using the circles and scalloped circles dies by Spellbinders. The sentiment is from Flourishes Stamps. Another new (to me) item I used is this great scalloped edge die by Sizzix. You can find the Cuttlebug Birds & Swirls embossing folder at Michelle's along with the Copics markers. This Basic Grey paper is one of my "old" favorites! I just added a little sheer ribbon bow and a button to give it the finishing touch!

Be sure to stop by the Paper Sundaes Challenge and see what's NEW by our fabulous Design Team!
