It's a BOY!!!

It's a BOY and that means I'm a Grandma!!! 
We've known for sometime that my daughter-in-law was having a boy and we even knew his name, but we have been on baby watch for two weeks and the wait is finally over! Parker Matthew Goldman has arrived and to celebrate I made this super fun card with lots and lots of baby items I've been collecting. It was the most fun to make too! 
First, here's a pic of me and my son, Matt, with Parker...

In case you are wondering, the onesie, the word 'baby,' the safety pin and balloon are all from SugarPea Designs. The fox, bee and train are Taylored Expressions and the little bunny is Memory Box. And that adorable box they all sit in is Neat and Tangled. I found it while shopping in my 'not-so-local' scrapbook store and just had to have it. There are so many things I plan to do with this little box die! My sentiment is a combination of Mama Elephant and Clearly Besotted.

I just love this combo of colors for a boy instead of just baby blue. Parker's nursery is decorated in a woodland theme with lots of foxes so this will tie in to that too!

Just a Note...

Hi there! I can't wait to share a fun card with you tonight. I know someone who needs a little pick me up and this card should do the trick! I used the sketch from the SPD Mix it Up challenge and used a soft palette of pastels to create a sweet card for someone special.The stamp set is called Whatever the Weather and there a tons of ways to use all the cute images on this one!  I embossed some clouds on vellum and left the layer loose to keep it lofty and layered it up with  a little color. I added a button with my twine and tied it up with a bow!

Missing You is Real Ruff!

Hi there! I know, I know, it's been three months since my last post! I can hardly believe it myself. That doesn't mean that I wasn't being crafty though. I've been busy working a lot and to be honest, my craft room was not something I wanted to face. It was such a mess that I could barely get in there!  But, I won't make any more excuses and I'll get to this cute card I wanted to share today! It fits with the SugarPea SugarSketch 41!

  My daughter is 7 hours away at college and I miss her more than anything in the world! It's real ruff! And...I love, love, love these adorable puppies from the SugarPea Hot Diggity Dog set.  She's been missing her dog too, so this set was perfect for the occasion!

I paired it up with a Mama Elephant sentiment, well, because it was really just what I wanted to say! I added a little sparkle on the dog tags and around the heart. A black button and twine ties it together!  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to get back here a lot sooner!

Whisking You a Sweet...Holiday!

Hi! I know I haven't been around on this little blog of mine, but I'm still here! I've been pretty busy... I sent my daughter off to college, changed jobs after 21+ years and we've been busy cleaning out and remodeling the basement for my son to move into so he can save money for a house! But enough about that. The truth is I have missed my craft room terribly and it has been the room where we just put everything temporarily...needless to say, it's a mess! I carved out a little path to get to my desk and there I sat last night, crafting away while hubs was at poker! I loved it!

I just got my new Sugar Pea stamps too, so it was the perfect combination. How cute is this little chef in the Whisky Business set!?! I had to have it the minute I saw it. It's just so sweet! I decided to play along with the Sugar Pea Designs sketch challenge too! 

These are not your usual holiday colors, but that's what I love about them! A little coloring and I was back in my groove! I did a little paper-piecing, added a die cut snowflake for the holiday and a few gems because we all love a little bling! I think it's very "me!" Not too much, not too little...just right!

Let's Chat!

Hi there! I had a little time to squeeze into my craft room (it's pretty messy) and it felt so good to sit down and play along with the SugarSketch Challenge over at SugarPea Designs.

I colored this sweet little girl from the Tin Can Chat stamp set and paper-pieced and colored her cute polka dot dress adding some sparkly Stickles to the dots!

Now, I don't recall ever attempting black curly hair, but after putting this card together, I felt there was no other choice and I'm glad I made the attempt. I did add a few curls here and there to fill in and even added that little curl over her ear, but over all, I think it works!

I didn't get too fancy with embellishments...just a black button with some twine tied in a knot and frayed the edges. And, it looks like I didn't color the tin can, but the light shading I did with a cool gray disappeared when I adjusted the lighting on the computer. I wanted it to be white anyway!

Hi! I had a little free time the other day on my unexpected snow day, so I decided to ink up my newest Sugar Pea Design stamp. Isn't she so cute?! I am so ready for Spring! This little sweetie is called What's Mew and she is sure to help me hold off these Winter blues and get ready for sunshine and warm weather! I'm going to share this over at SPD for their Anything Goes Challenge too!

I don't know if you noticed, but my shutters are paper-pieced and yes, I did fussy cut all around that branch and those little flowers and leaves! I went a little crazy on the embellies here, but that's what's so great about this hobby...I can do whatever I want and it's okay! I added a triple bow, some fern die cuts, a few roses and some sparkly sequins topped with gems!

I Love You ~ Sugar Pea!

Hi there! I don't know if you heard yet, but my stampy friend Wendy started her very own stamp company called Sugar Pea Designs! I ordered the whole debut release last week and couldn't wait to get inky with them! 

Here's a cutie from the the A Bushel and a Peck set! I was thrilled to see so many sentiments to choose from with this set! I'm even sharing the inside of my card too (left)! I have always said this to my kids, so I had to have it!  It's a little reminder of their childhood!


I colored my image to match my pretty Simple Stories papers and paper-pieced her little denim jeans. She's also fussy cut so I could give her focus atop lots of fun coordinating layers! I added a little twine and a button along with some burlap too! I can't wait to color my next set!
