Time to Celebrate!

This week at the SCACD Friends with Heart Challenge is Week #9 and in honor of the US holiday Memorial Day, we would like to see STARS...with an SCACD image of course! And, don't forget about the great prize for May - a full sheet of Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Peekers!

Speaking of the Peekers, here's one on my card! She's called Sweet Mischief Peeker and I've colored her up in red, white and blue for the holiday! You see, she is trying to get the sweet, sparkly cake Mom made for the holiday cookout, but she's just not big enough yet! I used some 'rolling pin' dp I found in my stash for the wood on the cabinet and shaded it a bit with my markers too!

As for the rest...I used Julie's sketch at Paper and Such, so it was pretty simple! A bit of ribbon and of course a STAR is layered up with a sweet shabby bow and topped off with a button and pearl! My sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

Be sure to stop by the SCACD Friends with Heart Challenge blog for all the details of the challenge and visit the other Design Team members blogs to see what they have to share with you today! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Stamp Something 3rd Birthday Celebration Hop!

Welcome to the Stamp Something 3rd Birthday Celebration Hop! We're having a party and we want you to get presents! Check out all the prize details and the complete list for the hop at the Stamp Something blog! If you made it here from Lorraine's Blog, then you are on the right track!

Our theme this week is Anything Goes and in addition to the fabulous prizes on the main challenge blog, each Design Team member has their very own sponsor and blog candy too! My sponsor for the hop is none other than the very talented and generous Susana of Susana's Custom Art and Card Design! Here's my card...

I am using one of the "Peekers" by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD called the New Beginnings Peeker! This little girl is just adorable peeking over the baby carriage! I paper-pieced several parts of this image including her dress and hat, the inside of the carriage and the front too! I colored the rest with Copics and even added some depth with my Copics right on the dp. My sentiment is from JustRite Stamps new Signs of Life set. I added a sweet pink sheer bow and some pearls!

My Celebration Blog Candy is the full sheet of the Peekers by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD generously donated by Susana! All you have to do is leave me a comment and I'll choose a winner who will be announced next Friday!

Here's a little bit about SCACD... and you can click HERE or on the blinkie to go to the store!

First, SCACD wishes to offer a Happy Birthday to Stamp Something!!! SCACD offers a wide range of products (Viva Decor, Sew Easy, a huge assortment of 6 x 6 paper pads to name a few) including my own line of Exclusive stamps designed by Artists Elisabeth Bell, Victoria Case & Carmen Medlin for SCACD. We also offer FREE shipping in the U.S.A. for product Orders over $100 and a Free gift with every purchase!!!

This is the last stop on the hop! The hop ends on Thursday, May 19th at 7 pm EST...the same as our challenge. Then, on Friday, the DT will post the winner of their prize along with next week's challenge post! Same goes for the prizes on the main blog post!

I hope you had a great time hopping today and thanks for stopping by to party with us!

You Color My World

Hi there! This week at the SCACD Friends with Heart Challenge is Week #6 and our theme is Paper-Piecing. And, don't forget about the great prize for May - a full sheet of Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Peekers ... they are so cute!

I used this adorable image by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD called Me and My Buddy. It's one of my favorite SCACD images! This little girl is just so stinkin' cute and her dog reminds me of my Pomeranian. I colored her and her pup with Copics and paper-pieced her whole outfit including the hairband! I added a heart and butterfly which are both MFT dies as well as my sentiment!

Be sure to stop by the SCACD Friends with Heart Challenge blog for all the details of the challenge and visit the other Design Team members blogs to see what they have to share with you today! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Together

Hi there and Happy Friday to everyone! I'll be super busy today getting ready for my dd's Halloween Costume Party tonight - 20 of her closest friends all dressed up and ready for fun!

You know Friday is Stamp Something Challenge day and this week's theme is to Stamp Something Rubber! Don't use digis for this one! We are also using Pink since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! I am blessed to be friends with several 'survivors' of breast cancer. So Stamp Something with Some Pink!

My image is from Elisabeth Bell for Susana's Custom Art and Card Design and it is called Me and My Buddy. This little dog looks just like my Pomeranian, but I didn't color it the same as my dog...too much black and I wanted it to be lighter! I colored this adorable little girl and her four-footed friend with Copics and cut it out with Spellbinders Labels 8. The papers are from my favorite My Minds Eye line called Pretty Please and the sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

I also used my Spellbinders scalloped circles set to cut the edge for my half circle portion of the sketch, but I have a trick! The circle isn't large enough, so I cut it in half and positioned it above and below the center so it looks like a whole piece. My image was going to cover it anyway so you can't see the missing area. I then used a Fiskars template to cut the half circle which also covers my 'trick.' All the edges are inked with ColorBox Coral Rose and I added some grosgrain ribbon covered with sheer ribbon and a few pearls. The flowers are Prima and Recollections mini roses and the pin is a Maya Road trinket pin with added beads.

Be sure to stop on over at the Stamp Something Challenge and take a look at our Design Team samples too. You're in for a treat if you do!

Spoil Yourself...at Paper Sundaes!

*this is my second post for today, so scroll down to see my debut DT project for Creative Inspirations!

Good Morning ! - It's another great Sunday! We're having a party at our house today...just a little cookout for our families to get together. Guess who else is having a good time today...yep, you guessed it...Paper Sundaes has a new challenge today and it's called Mixed Mediums! That means you must use at least two different mediums on your project...you could use chalks over your copics, or pencils over your copics, or mix and match how you like (but never use your copics on top of any other medium). The sponsor this week is My Creative Classroom and they are giving away a $25 gift certificate!

I started by stamping this adorable image that I recently won at Follow Your Heart. They had blog candy for their new release of their Elisabeth Bell exclusive Animapeeps stamps at Susana's Creative Art and Card Design...and I won the whole set! This one is called Sweet Slumbers...such a cute little mouse in her kerchief and nightgown! I used both Bamboo Leaves and Rich Cocoa ink to stamp this. The little dewdrop size inks make it very easy to do this. Then I colored them with my copics (listed below) and topped it with Prismacolor pencils. The mouse is colored with Prismacolors only.

I wanted to use a generic sentiment for this one as I'm not sure who the recipient of this card is yet! The front sentiment is from Craft Affair and the inside (shown) has a sentiment from Our Craft Lounge! I used a couple of different lines of papers here in order to achieve a sort of Fall-like feel to this card, but not limiting myself to using it in the Fall. I finished it off with some printed sheer ribbon topped with twine, a few polka dotted fabric brads and a little pearl! I really hope you like it! Head on over to the Paper Sundaes Challenge blog to join in the fun!

love love love...

Edit - this card won a Top 5 honor at the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!

Hello - I couldn't wait to get this posted tonight. I am finally feeling better after the whole emergency root canal fiasco...and now it's time to have some fun!

I started with a Paper Co. scalloped circle that is slightly blingy with an irridescence to it. I layered my adorable Spunkette image on more bling paper and accented the corners with green bling cut with my Spellbinders flourish accents dies.

I'm following the sketch over at Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge and it is so girly with a bow and flourishes! I used some of my favorite ribbon from Autumn Leaves French Twist collection and of course, I had to use pearls! The flowers are both blingy with Stickles frosted lace and yellow. I had a lot of fun making this card. I hope you like it!
