Celebrate Your Day!

This week at the SCACD Friends with Heart Challenge is Week #8 and we have the easiest challenge ever...Anything Goes...with an SCACD image of course! And, don't forget about the great prize for May - a full sheet of Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Peekers ... they are so cute!

Here's one of my favorite images called Spunkette and she's an Elisabeth Bell exclusive for SCACD image. She's colored with Copics and cut out with my newest Spellbinders Nestie shape! I added some Stickles to her wings as well as around my sentiment from the Celebration Pennants set at Whimsy Stamps!

Lots of fun embellishments dress this card...a sheer bow topped with a crochet flower and mini rose, a double punched butterfly with some gems popped up in the corner and some swirls peeking out between the popped up sentiment and the scalloped circle base. Some pearls finish off the corners!

I also wanted to share with you this photo of the robin's nest built into my front door wreath by some very persistent feathered friends. They have been trying for weeks and finally got it done overnight last Thursday. I was amazed at how perfect it was. Then, each day since, I have found one more egg in the nest. Here's a pic when there were only three eggs yesterday...there are now four eggs! I'll keep you posted on my little friends! Every time someone opens the door, I yell, "Please don't slam the door shut!" My kids are already tired of hearing that!

Be sure to stop by the SCACD Friends with Heart Challenge blog for all the details of the challenge and visit the other Design Team members blogs to see what they have to share with you today! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

SCACD New Release - The Natural Beauty Collection

Hi there and welcome to the New Release Blog Hop for the Carmen Medlin for SCACD's Natural Beauty Collection which is available now!

I hope you made it here from Kim's Blog! If so, you are on the right track! There's a complete list at the Follow Your Heart Blog too just in case! Here's my card using the new image called Sitting Pretty!

This beautiful image is colored with Copics and given a bit of sparkle with some Stickles on the flowers on her dress! There's a bit on the sweet little butterfly too! Although it is completely up to you how to interpret this pretty girl's "chair", I chose to fill it in and have it look like leaves in between the various shades of green and brown vines and leaves. I have seen it colored like a grapevine chair too...I might try that soon!

I used the flowers in the Pink Paislee dp for inspiration when choosing colors her dress, bow and ballet slippers. She's layered up with some pretty vintage seam binding, a metal flower topped with a pearl, a big, beautiful rose and lots of blingy flourishes! My sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

Your next stop on the hop is the fabulously talented Suzanne! I'm sure she will have something very special for you to see! Thanks for stopping by today!

If Friends Were Flowers...

Hi there! It's time for a new SCACD Friends with Heart Challenge! We have a fun theme this week called Show us Your ART...that means...

Any SCACD Stamp
Ribbon
Two Patterned Papers

This week, I chose this pretty Peonies stamp by Lockhart Stamps! Peonies are one of my favorites...especially the pink ones...but I am very fond of white peonies with dark pink edges. They are so beautiful! I colored my image with Copics and cut it out with a Nestabilities die. I layered it up with some cardstock and my two patterned papers, tied it up with some ribbon and added some pearls. My sentiment is from Taylored Expressions.

Hi there! I hope you joined us for the very first SCACD Friends with Heart Challenge last week! It's time for our second challenge and since we're friends with HEART...it's all about HEARTS, so we want you to use at least one heart on your project!

I picked this sweet image from the exclusive Carmen Medlin for SCACD Reflections #2 Collection called First Signs of Spring for my card today! She's colored with Copics, cut out and matted with a Spellbinders Nestabilities shape. I added layers of embellishments including a sheer bow, my sentiment from the new Whimsy Stamps EverydayMini Postage Stamps which is releasing this week, a few hearts cut using the Spellbinders hearts dies and a flourish from a Marianne's die set. I added a few pearls here and there for a little bling!

SCACD Friends With Heart Challenge Debut!

Hi there! Today is a very special day!
Today is the very first challenge at the
SCACD Friends With Heart Challenge!

This very sweet image is an
Elisabeth Bell for SCACD exclusive. She's called Day Dreaming and I had the best time coloring her at a little stamping get together last month! I usually pick out my paper first then color, but this worked out because I just knew I loved the colors I used and had something at home just waiting to pair up with it! And that I did...these papers are from K & Co. and matched perfectly!

I used my Copics to color my image and then rounded the corners, inked the edges with some Tattered Rose Ranger Distress ink, cut out a Spellbinders lacey squares shape with a pretty pink dp and added some pink pearls to the corners. Then comes the fun part...a spray of leaves and roses, some shabby seam binding from
Deb's Simple Treasures Etsy shop all tied up in a pretty little bow and a sweet sentiment from Taylored Expressions topped with more tiny pearls.

Please stop by the new
SCACD Friends With Heart Challenge blog to see what the rest of this fabulous Design Team has created using stamps from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design Store!I promise...you will love the creations they have made! You can also find all the details about the two fabulous prizes to be given to two lucky followers while you're there!
