I'm Here for You

Here I go again...creating a little something 'outside the box' (for me anyway)! I wanted to play along with the DeNami Designs sketch challenge and I thought the colors at the Colour Q were a complete challenge for me especially at this time of year, so I went for it and combined them!

Here is the Colour Q palette...

And...here is the DeNami sketch...

I used this oh so pretty Swan image from DeNami Designs which you can find at their store...here...and bonus!... it's on sale! I stamped it with Memento ink and I only colored the bill of the swan with a Copic marker. The corners were rounded and distressed with the same ink. My kraft background is stamped with an Impression Obsession damask background stamp in white...you can just see it's subtle addition to the plain kraft paper! Then I layered up a little embossed paper and a dp that I found in my stash and added a few pearls. The sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink set.

Challenges:
DeNami Designs Challenge #06 - sketch!
Colour Q #69 - see graphic above!
Crafty Creations - Heat It Up (warm colors)

who's there?

Hi there and Happy Friday! Are you ready for another Stamp Something Challenge?! Wait until you see what the fabulous Design Team has to share with you today! Our new challenge theme is Halloween and our sponsor is Bunny Zoe.

For my card, I used the CC Design Sweet November Baby Trick or Treat Witch. I colored her with copics and then chomped the corners of the paper with a hole punch. I used Mercy's sketch this week and layered up all these cute Halloween papers and cardstock. I punch the edge of the black paper with a Martha Stewart edge punch and filled in the smaller holes with purple Queen & Co. pearls! I added a sweet sparkly ruffly edged bow and a Making Memories tag that appropriately says, 'who's there?" I thought she looked like she might be saying that! A pumpkin sticker finishes it off! Even the pumpkin is looking up to see "who's there!"

Head on over to the Stamp Something Challenge blog and check out all the great samples from the Design Team..and while you are there, add your Halloween creation!

Challenges:
Mercy's Tuesday Sketch #95
Colour Q #54 - Black, Orange, Green, Purple, White

Good Morning! I had so much fun at the stamp show in York, PA yesterday and I got to meet some of the very talented stampers that I follow on their blogs! It was great meeting Teresa (Enjoy the VA Sunshine, Wanda (Cullen-ary Creations) and Denise (The Paper Landscaper)!!! I just couldn't wait to play with some of the loot I brought home too.

I got this great dress stamp from Rubbernecker and I just love these Prima flowers I picked up too! The Colour Q is one of my favorite challenges and I couldn't wait to get this stamp inky with these colors! Aren't they great together! I knew I had the perfect WRMK paper for it too! The sentiment is from Verve and it's one of my faves too! I'll give this card to my daughter one day...just because! Gotta go to work today...

Wishing You Bouquets of Joy!

*this is my second post today, so scroll down if you are looking for my Creative Inspirations post!

Good morning to everyone! It's Sunday and that means it's time for another Paper Sundaes Challenge...this week we are challenging you to use your Fall or Halloween colors and our fabulous sponsor is Simon Says Stamp! You could win a gift certificate to go shopping there, so head on over and check it out...you can find the challenge here! You'll want to check out the other Design Team members creations too - you're in for a treat!

As a matter of fact, you can find this adorable little Crafty Secrets stamp set at Simon Says Stamp...right here! It's called Bouquet of Joy and this sweet-faced little girl was so much fun to color...and what a bouquet! I used my copics to color these flowers in all the yummy Fall colors! Then I cut it out using my Spellbinders Standard Circles Large and Petite Scalloped Circles sets and mounted it to this perfect October Afternoon paper.

I just love the font they used for this sentiment too - it's so very vintage! It was cut out using my Spellbinders Fancy Tags and then attached to another piece of green cardstock cut with the same die. A little sparkle was added with some bling in the holes of this gorgeous coral colored lace! I finished it off with a couple of pearls and a matching satin ribbon!

I hope you'll join us this week over at Paper Sundaes!

Other Challenges:
Colour Q #50 - cherry, peach, pear, espresso, white
InStyle Stamps September Color Challenge - Fall is in the Air

You Make My World Happy

H1! I just got back from a Rubber Stamps and Scrapbook show in my area and I literally had to make myself leave...I was already coming to work late but that not the only reason...more like the dent it put in my purse! Oh well, hubby is going on a golf trip next weekend, so this was my 'golf trip!'

I just got this adorable little MFT PI girl stamp in the mail and I couldn't wait to use it! This is my take on a back to school theme since my kids are too old to give cards to teachers and all that - it's for my dd, who has been very successful in her first couple weeks of school. She was chosen for a team of 8th graders to mentor and guide the 6th graders in school, she made Cheer Captain again of the football cheer squad, she is a member of the service club and will run again for Student Council rep! She is very involved and still gets straight A's - and this is my way of saying I'm so very proud of her!

Challenges:
Create: blog - accordian flowers
MFT blog - Back to School Blues
Colour Q #49 - brown and blues
The Pink Elephant #83 - Back to School

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

A Big Bright Happy Birthday!

Wow - I'm just popping in to share a card I made last night with you...before I collapse from exhaustion after the very long day I have had. Let's just say soccer tournament, dinner plans, shopping for the party tomorrow and four extra kids at my house overnight tonight!

I made this for several challenges...one of which is the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge whose theme is summer memories and unfortunately, my hydrangeas are what I am really going to miss. I love this flowery bush and hate to see them turn into sticks every year. I'll just list the details and I really have to go to bed...lots to do for the cookout tomorrow - and the guest list grew too!

Challenges:
2S4Y - Kazan's Sketch #60
Colour Q #48 - Cherry, Daffodil, Tangerine, Turquoise, Vanilla and Kraft
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #82 - Summer Memory
The Creative Cottage #22 - Celebrations!

My Crafty Recipe:
Stamp: Papertrey Ink Birthday Bash Sentiments
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Bazzill French Vanilla, Kraft
Copics: R37 and YR04 (to color the red and orange flowers and orange brad)
Other: Prima hydrangea flowers, Basic Grey brads, Cuttlebug Polka Dots EF

Have a great night and thanks for stopping by!

thank you...sugar

Edit - this card was chosen as a Colour Q Courtier card for Colour Q #47!

I can't decide if this is retro or modern?...or a touch of both! But, what I do know is that it was so much fun to make...I am loving this paper from American Crafts and oh, how it takes you back to vintage kitchens with metal and colored table sets...colored appliances and fun, funky colors!

I started with the inspiration photo at Deb's Simple Treasures blog. She is giving away a copy of the Card Style Magazine she won since she already had one! Then I gathered up my sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You this week and the palette that also matches from Curtain Call Act 44 and I was ready to go!

I stamped the sugar bowl image on BoBunny double dot cardstock and cut it out with my craft knife. I knew I needed a tiny sentiment so I paired up the thank you with the sugar label and made a cutesy sentiment! I added this yummy white ruffly ribbon and some bright red pearls, a polka dot flower and I tied the tiny tag to the handle of the sugar bowl with embroidery floss!

I really hope you like it - I really did have fun with this one!

p.s. the yellow looks so orangy in this photo, but it's really yellow...I swear!

Challenges:
Simple Treasures - Card Style Magazine Giveaway - colors and theme!
2 Sketches 4 You - sketch!
Curtain Call Act 44 - turquoise, daffodil, poppy and white!
Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger - inspiration photo
Color Q #47 - poppy, mustard, turquoise, gray, white!

My Crafty Recipe:
Stamps: PTI Tea for Two Additions
Inks: ColorBox Chestnut Roan and Lipstick Red
Paper: AC Abode, Bazzill cardstock, BoBunny dbl. dot cardstock
Other: Spare Parts ribbon, Queen & Co. pearls, Prima and Making Memories flowers, embroidery floss and tiny tag from stash
