Moxie Fab Thanks Blog Hop!

Hi there! I'm so glad you are making your way along the Blog Hop of all Blog Hops! You should have arrived here from Lyndal Higgins' Blog! You can find the entire blog hop list at the Moxie Fab World Blog!

I'll keep this short and sweet! We're paying tribute today to Cath Edvalson from Moxie Fab World today. Her fresh, fun inspiration has touched so many crafters including me and we are all so sad to see her leaving. So, here's my card to say I am Thankful for You Cath! You will be missed!

Here's the new Homespun Holidays and Season of Love stamp sets which are being released early this month! I colored my images with Copics to match my layers of paper and added my sentiment as a tag tied on with twine! The colors are a little different in real life...more of a mauve actually. I really love the country feel of these images!

Don't forget! All of the new Paper Sweeties November stamps are available as of today!

Your next stop on the hop is Jenny Martin! Have a great day and have fun hopping!

Hi There!

Hi there! See those little birds over there? I don't know what it is about them, but they sparked something in me that made me sit right down after two 12-hour days and make this card!  It's the Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger photo and I love it!

I have had this Stampendous stamp sitting on my desk just waiting to use it and this was the perfect opportunity! I just love the colors of those birds, so I colored my little friend to match and perched him on a MB die cut branch!  I added a couple layers of ribbon and a bow along with some punched flowers with pearl centers to match the flowers in the photo. I even added a little white tulle next to the bow since I didn't have a white feather! My sentiment is from Flourishes and it's stamped and folded over the top!

Thanks for taking a look!

To My Wonderful Friend

Hi there! One of my goals this year is to "play" more with my most favorite challenges...and that's what this card is all about!

I love making these 'quilted' look cards and this one is no exception. I used three different embossing folders to create my textures and added a strip of lace cut from a Spellbinders die. Then some polka dotted white ribbon and a hint of pink with this sheer ribbon. The flower image and sentiment are from Flourishes new Butterflies & Blossoms set. Pearls are the finishing touch on this one!

Challenges:
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #99 - Flowers
Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger - Photo Inspiration
City Crafter Challenge #38 - Winter White
Creative Cottage #30 - Something New (Stamp Set)
Simon Says Stamp - New Beginnings (friend's new beginning)

I Simply Adore You

I have to say I had a great time making this card...it's nice to just sit back and make an all occasion card since the past few weeks have been all about the holiday season!

This little cutie is for the My Favorite Things December Guest Designer Challenge on SCS which calls for stitching and the All Occasion Card Challenge at Moxie Fab World! I used one of my favorite stamp sets from My Favorite Things called "Cute Is What I Do." I paper-pieced her little outfit and colored her with Copics. I also used the Die-namics Polka Dot die and stamp set. I layered up the patterned papers on this one and I love stitching on cards! A few pearls look like they are holding my sentiment frame in place and a sparkly sheer bow adds a little more shimmer! It's perfect for my friend who needs a little pick me up right now!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Cupcake!

Edit: This card won at Moxie Fab World's Perfectly Placed Pleats challenge!

Hi again! Just popping in to post this one before it's too late!

I love birthdays and cupcakes and this card has both! It doesn't have to say Happy Birthday on the outside to be a birthday card...but this little cutie has it on the inside!

I'm getting down to scraps of this pretty MME Abbey Road collection of dp's...so sad it's going away. I'm sure I'll get hooked on a new collection soon. I was going to go out shopping today, but it's cold and rainy and I just don't feel like it. That's just more 'me' time in the craft room! (the green plaid dp is from DCWV)

The layout here is for the Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge and I also made this work for the Moxie Fab World Perfectly Place Pleats challenge too! The stamps are Waltzing Mouse Roses in Bloom. I had this idea to make them into cupcakes one night while I was trying to fall asleep. I'm so glad I remembered it! I used my Scor-Buddy to make my pleats on my kraft paper and I had to paper-piece the rosebud leaves. The sentiment is a $1 stamp from M's and it had a cupcake in between the words which I didn't want on my tag, so I lined it up the best I could and tada'! The ends of the sentiment tag are cut with a Fiskars punch. I love how the cupcakes look like they are popping off the card! That's all for now!

Challenges:
Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge #18 - sketch
Moxie Fab World - Perfectly Placed Pleats
Crazy4Challenges #58 - Birthday

Hope...

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and I have been touched by breast cancer in both my family and my circle of friends. This card is for my friend...a survivor...who just walked in the Walk for a Cure last weekend. I want to tell her how proud I am to have her as a friend!

My card uses a flower from Verve's One Person and the Hope circle from The Cutting Cafe's Think Pink set. The flower is colored with copics, dotted with a Queen & Co. pearl and popped up on top of the circle sentiment. I scored the paper and perfectly placed my pleats then cut them with a craft knife to shape. And what breast cancer card would be complete without a pink ribbon!

Challenges:
Mojo Monday #159 - fabulous sketch!
Moxie Fab World - Perfectly Placed Pleats
Raise the Bar #39 - Raise the BRA (pink, awareness)

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget about my Follow Me blog candy...you can find it HERE...until October 17th! If I get to 100 followers by then, I'll add another bonus candy!

Have a Joyful Holiday!

Hi there! It's Friday, I'm off work and that means it time for another Stamp Something Challenge. This week's theme is Something Punchy and wait until you see what the very talented ladies on the design team have in store for you. Our sponsore this week is Kut 4 U. I've got another cutie patootie digi image to share with you today. He's from Pink Gem and he is called Robin with Mistletoe, but I made him a bluebird to match my paper! I'm not sure how I got him, but I know it was a freebie!

I colored him with my copics and added a bit of Frosted Lace Stickles to his hat edge, pompom and scarf! I also added some Diamond Stickles to the falling snowdrops around him. It seems I am also having a bit of an obsession lately with my Martha Stewart snowflake punch these days. I think this is the third project in the last week that I have used it on. This time I punched the snowflakes in the dp and red and layered them up then dabbed them with some more Diamond Stickles. A few pearls and the snowflakes are done! Just a little more Stickles in Xmas Red on the mistletoe and on either side of my sentiment which is from Darcie's.

I also used a punch on the edge of the red cardstock under the yummy green grosgrain ribbon...it's sort of like snowflakes...I guess I know which punch I need to get next. Maybe I'll get a gift card to one my favorite crafty stores for my birthday! All the edges are inked in ColorBox Lipstick Red or Martha's light blue.

Please stop by the blogs of the other Stamp Something Design Team members and see what gorgeous Punchy projects they have waiting for you!

Harriet...a Waltzing Mouse WCMD Beauty!

Isn't she beautiful? She is a free digital stamp from Waltzing Mouse in honor of World Card Making Day. Her name is Harriet and she is bundled up with her fur-lined coat and beautiful hat with a gift for you! I had so much fun with this card. I used some of my favorites too...this great lace which I colored the perfect color with a copic marker, the green pleated ribbon, a BoBunny bloom with the gingham ribbon flower center, Spellbinders dies to cut it out and this cute little charm (which I realize now I should have used an H for Harriet, but that's okay...the person getting this has a name that starts with P!) and of course, pearls to finish it off! Oh, and the papers are from BoBunny and Basic Grey.

Challenges:
Waltzing Mouse Makes - Harriet WCMD Challenge

Owl always have you by my side...

Hi there -I'm spending this day off catching up on all I missed while I was working all weekend and getting ready for the next two long days at work. I'm not feeling so well, so I guess it's a good day to just lay around watching TV and resting.

I have a card today, but I'm not sure that it's really "me." I made it last night and I just keep coming back to it and saying "hmmmm" - know what I mean?

These cute little owls are from Unity and are part of the Itty Bitty line of stamps. I really don't have anything else to say...so I'll just post the challenges and see what everyone else has to say!

We are never alone...

Good morning - it's so beautiful here in Southern PA today and I am off for 3 days...the kids are at school and the hubby is on a golf trip so you know what that means?!!!!! Lots of ME time this weekend!

Remember I told you I went to a stamp show last weekend...well, here is one of the stamp sets I purchased from a CTMH booth. I was so drawn to these pretty flowers and this beautiful sentiment that I just had to have it.

This card has a lot of things going on too...I heat embossed the background with PTI Flourishes stamps, embossed the circle mat as well as all the pieces of patterned paper. Then I inked up the dp's to bring out the pattern of the embossing. I just love this ruffly ribbon from Spare Parts too!
If you look closely you can see some blinginess from Stickles as I made my own glitter paper!

I really hope you like it!

Challenges:
Taylored Expressions #127 - sketch

It's Your Birthday...Happy Birthday!

Hi there - it's my day off, but I've been so busy...making treats for a cheerleading bake sale, making locker decorations for the high school soccer team and making this card to share with you!

This card gave me a chance to play along at some of the challenges I have missed in the last few weeks. I'm lovin' this little freebie image called Bo from Tiddly Inks. Their challenge this week is to use one of their animal stamps. I colored him with my copics and then I paired it up with some great papers from my stash and paper-pieced the balloons to match! These little sentiment stamps are a couple of my faves from The Cat's Pajamas You Say It's Your Birthday set.

I used the Mojo Monday sketch, which is a miracle I got that one done in time, and I incorporated the Moxie Fab World Offset Scalloped Challenge in this one...it's not too much since it's a Boy or Man's Birthday card! My color inspiration was from Picture Perfect Creations and the plaid, stitching and stars satisfy some of the other challenges!

The Challenges:
Tiddly Inks #21 - Our Pets
Mojo Monday - Sketch #156
Picture Perfect Creations #30 - Blue, Green, Brown
The Creative Cottage #23 - Boy Birthday
Moxie Fab World - Offset Scallop Gallop

thank you...sugar

Edit - this card was chosen as a Colour Q Courtier card for Colour Q #47!

I can't decide if this is retro or modern?...or a touch of both! But, what I do know is that it was so much fun to make...I am loving this paper from American Crafts and oh, how it takes you back to vintage kitchens with metal and colored table sets...colored appliances and fun, funky colors!

I started with the inspiration photo at Deb's Simple Treasures blog. She is giving away a copy of the Card Style Magazine she won since she already had one! Then I gathered up my sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You this week and the palette that also matches from Curtain Call Act 44 and I was ready to go!

I stamped the sugar bowl image on BoBunny double dot cardstock and cut it out with my craft knife. I knew I needed a tiny sentiment so I paired up the thank you with the sugar label and made a cutesy sentiment! I added this yummy white ruffly ribbon and some bright red pearls, a polka dot flower and I tied the tiny tag to the handle of the sugar bowl with embroidery floss!

I really hope you like it - I really did have fun with this one!

p.s. the yellow looks so orangy in this photo, but it's really yellow...I swear!

Discover your wings...

Hello there - Can you believe this is my 100th post - in only 3 months I have 100 posts!!! I would have never thought 3 months ago that I would have that many...or almost 3000 hits or almost 30 followers, but here I am. I love sharing with everyone, joining challenges and seeing all the inspiring creations out there in blogland! Thanks for joining me and here's to 100 more posts!

I have two completely different cards for you today, but I only have time to show you one of them. I'll have to come back later and share again...busy day today and a possible root canal too! (yuck!)

I was so excited when this Taylored Expressions stamp set came in the mail. It's not a new release, but it is so pretty and I have had my eye on it for some time.

I started by embossing the black cardstock with a Cuttlebug frame (you can see it there on the right top and bottom under the clear acetate) and that decided the whole size and shape of my card. Then I got out the embossing pad and white embossing powder and heat embossed the dragonfly and sentiment - doesn't that just pop on the black paper!?! I used the photos from both The Shabby Tea Room and the Moxie Fab World as inspiration for this card. The shiny acetate reminded me of the The Shabby Tea Room (reflections) photo and the ivory lace and pink pearls (Moxie's she sells seashells) photo.

I really hope you like it. I enjoyed using so many products and techniques on this card...dry embossing, heat embossing, Stickles, acetate, vellum...yummy! I think this would be a great graduation card for a girl...and I'll need quite a few this coming year since my son will graduate...along with lots of his friends.

Challenges:
The Shabby Tea Room #22 - "Reflections" (photo)
Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger - She Sells Seashells (photo)
Cuttlebug Challenges - Be Inspired #96 - I Can See Clearly Now (acetate)

Other: White embossing powder,Spare Parts lace, Recollections pearls, Diamond Stickles, Cuttlebug embossed frame embossing folder (on black cdstk), Black copic, Fiskars scalloped scallop edge punch

2S4Y x 2 ... Part 2

I'm back with Part 2 of my so called algebra equation! See post below for Part 1!

Here is my feminine take on the 2S4Y sketch...and a shabby card for the Moxie Fab World - Let's Do Shabby & Vintage! I'm also sharing this with Joan's Gardens #7 Challenge - bright and happy birthday with a flower.

As I said before, the prize at 2S4Y is a DT spot and who wouldn't want to be a part of that awesome team! (crossing my fingers!)

I just love this paper line from Fancy Pants...it's called Road Show and it is so yummy. I just got my order from Frost It Pink and I can't take my hands off this Webster's bloomers aqua flower ribbon! I cut it to make separate flowers, but I'm sure you'll see it soon in it's ribbon form on my little blog! So, I'm off today and apparently so is the hubby now...he's "working from home" today which is code for getting in my way of what I really wanted to do on my day off! No, really, I love to see him since I work a few nights a week...cause that's how retail rolls!

Crafty Recipe:

Fancy Pants Road Show - shabby floral dp and cards page
Webster's bloomers - aqua
Martha Stewart brown ink
Maya Road crystal trinket pin with added pink crystal
pink silk ribbon

I really hope you like it! Have a great day!

2S4Y x 2....Part 1

Doesn't that title look like an algebra equation?! 2S4Y's sketch challenge ends today and I couldn't possibly miss this one! The prize is a DT spot! It would be an honor to join their team!

This is the first part of my algebra equation...I decided to take a very masculine approach to the sketch as well as the feminine you will see above this post. I'm posting these two cards separately, but at the same time, so I can use them in other challenges and still be able to access them separately.

Challenges:
2S4Y - sketch
Moxie Fab World - Let's Do Clean & Graphic

Crafty Recipe:
Tim Holtz Sprocket Gears
Brown braiding cord
Marcella by K dp
Cuttlebug Clockworks embossing folder
twine
ColorBox chestnut roan ink

I hope you like it! Have a great day and stay cool!
