Autumn is...

Good morning! Only one more day until my birthday and that means blog candy for two lucky people!

Today I am sharing another Fall inspired creation which will be displayed in my home for the Fall holidays. I love the sketch this week over at 2 Sketches 4 You and they are looking for new DT members, so I had to give it a shot! It would be an honor to work with their team. And, JustRite Friday Challenge is for Fall colors! Put them together and this is what you get!

I used one of the sentiments from JustRite's Autumn Blessings set and cut it out using Spellbinders dies. Then I inked it with Ranger Distress Tea Dye ink, popped it up and surrounded it by all these wonderful Fall colored Prima leaves. I really love using this fabric as a background too...it's so natural and earthy! A little gingham, which always reminds me of Fall, and some grosgrain ribbon and it's done. I think less is more with this card!

Challenges:
JustRite Friday Challenge 040 - Colors of Fall
2 Sketches 4 You - Kazan's sketch #63
Crazy 4 Challenges #59 - Fall
Pixie Dust #44 - Fall into Fall
Sweet Stampin Challenge #48 - Ribbon
Cupcake Inspirations #80 - photo inspiration

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget about my Follow Me blog candy...you can find it HERE...until October 17th!

Harriet...a Waltzing Mouse WCMD Beauty!

Isn't she beautiful? She is a free digital stamp from Waltzing Mouse in honor of World Card Making Day. Her name is Harriet and she is bundled up with her fur-lined coat and beautiful hat with a gift for you! I had so much fun with this card. I used some of my favorites too...this great lace which I colored the perfect color with a copic marker, the green pleated ribbon, a BoBunny bloom with the gingham ribbon flower center, Spellbinders dies to cut it out and this cute little charm (which I realize now I should have used an H for Harriet, but that's okay...the person getting this has a name that starts with P!) and of course, pearls to finish it off! Oh, and the papers are from BoBunny and Basic Grey.

Challenges:
Waltzing Mouse Makes - Harriet WCMD Challenge
2S4Y - Laura's Sketch #62 (Bonus Sketch)
Moxie Fab World - Jolly Holiday Greetings

A Big Bright Happy Birthday!

Wow - I'm just popping in to share a card I made last night with you...before I collapse from exhaustion after the very long day I have had. Let's just say soccer tournament, dinner plans, shopping for the party tomorrow and four extra kids at my house overnight tonight!

I made this for several challenges...one of which is the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge whose theme is summer memories and unfortunately, my hydrangeas are what I am really going to miss. I love this flowery bush and hate to see them turn into sticks every year. I'll just list the details and I really have to go to bed...lots to do for the cookout tomorrow - and the guest list grew too!

Challenges:
2S4Y - Kazan's Sketch #60
Colour Q #48 - Cherry, Daffodil, Tangerine, Turquoise, Vanilla and Kraft
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #82 - Summer Memory
The Creative Cottage #22 - Celebrations!

My Crafty Recipe:
Stamp: Papertrey Ink Birthday Bash Sentiments
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Bazzill French Vanilla, Kraft
Copics: R37 and YR04 (to color the red and orange flowers and orange brad)
Other: Prima hydrangea flowers, Basic Grey brads, Cuttlebug Polka Dots EF

Have a great night and thanks for stopping by!

thank you...sugar

Edit - this card was chosen as a Colour Q Courtier card for Colour Q #47!

I can't decide if this is retro or modern?...or a touch of both! But, what I do know is that it was so much fun to make...I am loving this paper from American Crafts and oh, how it takes you back to vintage kitchens with metal and colored table sets...colored appliances and fun, funky colors!

I started with the inspiration photo at Deb's Simple Treasures blog. She is giving away a copy of the Card Style Magazine she won since she already had one! Then I gathered up my sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You this week and the palette that also matches from Curtain Call Act 44 and I was ready to go!

I stamped the sugar bowl image on BoBunny double dot cardstock and cut it out with my craft knife. I knew I needed a tiny sentiment so I paired up the thank you with the sugar label and made a cutesy sentiment! I added this yummy white ruffly ribbon and some bright red pearls, a polka dot flower and I tied the tiny tag to the handle of the sugar bowl with embroidery floss!

I really hope you like it - I really did have fun with this one!

p.s. the yellow looks so orangy in this photo, but it's really yellow...I swear!

Challenges:
Simple Treasures - Card Style Magazine Giveaway - colors and theme!
2 Sketches 4 You - sketch!
Curtain Call Act 44 - turquoise, daffodil, poppy and white!
Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger - inspiration photo
Color Q #47 - poppy, mustard, turquoise, gray, white!

My Crafty Recipe:
Stamps: PTI Tea for Two Additions
Inks: ColorBox Chestnut Roan and Lipstick Red
Paper: AC Abode, Bazzill cardstock, BoBunny dbl. dot cardstock
Other: Spare Parts ribbon, Queen & Co. pearls, Prima and Making Memories flowers, embroidery floss and tiny tag from stash

Discover your wings...

Hello there - Can you believe this is my 100th post - in only 3 months I have 100 posts!!! I would have never thought 3 months ago that I would have that many...or almost 3000 hits or almost 30 followers, but here I am. I love sharing with everyone, joining challenges and seeing all the inspiring creations out there in blogland! Thanks for joining me and here's to 100 more posts!

I have two completely different cards for you today, but I only have time to show you one of them. I'll have to come back later and share again...busy day today and a possible root canal too! (yuck!)

I was so excited when this Taylored Expressions stamp set came in the mail. It's not a new release, but it is so pretty and I have had my eye on it for some time.

I started by embossing the black cardstock with a Cuttlebug frame (you can see it there on the right top and bottom under the clear acetate) and that decided the whole size and shape of my card. Then I got out the embossing pad and white embossing powder and heat embossed the dragonfly and sentiment - doesn't that just pop on the black paper!?! I used the photos from both The Shabby Tea Room and the Moxie Fab World as inspiration for this card. The shiny acetate reminded me of the The Shabby Tea Room (reflections) photo and the ivory lace and pink pearls (Moxie's she sells seashells) photo.

I really hope you like it. I enjoyed using so many products and techniques on this card...dry embossing, heat embossing, Stickles, acetate, vellum...yummy! I think this would be a great graduation card for a girl...and I'll need quite a few this coming year since my son will graduate...along with lots of his friends.

Challenges:
The Shabby Tea Room #22 - "Reflections" (photo)
Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger - She Sells Seashells (photo)
Cuttlebug Challenges - Be Inspired #96 - I Can See Clearly Now (acetate)
2 Sketches 4 You - Laura's Sketch # 58

My Crafty Recipe:
Stamps: Taylored Expressions - Discover Your Wings
Paper: Bazzill black, pink/black dp from stash, K & Co. Basic Grey White Script Acetate Paper, Embossed vellum
Other: White embossing powder,Spare Parts lace, Recollections pearls, Diamond Stickles, Cuttlebug embossed frame embossing folder (on black cdstk), Black copic, Fiskars scalloped scallop edge punch

Have a great day, wish me luck with that root canal and thanks for stopping by!

2S4Y x 2 ... Part 2

I'm back with Part 2 of my so called algebra equation! See post below for Part 1!

Here is my feminine take on the 2S4Y sketch...and a shabby card for the Moxie Fab World - Let's Do Shabby & Vintage! I'm also sharing this with Joan's Gardens #7 Challenge - bright and happy birthday with a flower.

As I said before, the prize at 2S4Y is a DT spot and who wouldn't want to be a part of that awesome team! (crossing my fingers!)

I just love this paper line from Fancy Pants...it's called Road Show and it is so yummy. I just got my order from Frost It Pink and I can't take my hands off this Webster's bloomers aqua flower ribbon! I cut it to make separate flowers, but I'm sure you'll see it soon in it's ribbon form on my little blog! So, I'm off today and apparently so is the hubby now...he's "working from home" today which is code for getting in my way of what I really wanted to do on my day off! No, really, I love to see him since I work a few nights a week...cause that's how retail rolls!

Crafty Recipe:

Fancy Pants Road Show - shabby floral dp and cards page
Webster's bloomers - aqua
Martha Stewart brown ink
Maya Road crystal trinket pin with added pink crystal
pink silk ribbon

I really hope you like it! Have a great day!

2S4Y x 2....Part 1

Doesn't that title look like an algebra equation?! 2S4Y's sketch challenge ends today and I couldn't possibly miss this one! The prize is a DT spot! It would be an honor to join their team!

This is the first part of my algebra equation...I decided to take a very masculine approach to the sketch as well as the feminine you will see above this post. I'm posting these two cards separately, but at the same time, so I can use them in other challenges and still be able to access them separately.

Challenges:
2S4Y - sketch
Moxie Fab World - Let's Do Clean & Graphic

Crafty Recipe:
Tim Holtz Sprocket Gears
Brown braiding cord
Marcella by K dp
Cuttlebug Clockworks embossing folder
twine
ColorBox chestnut roan ink

I hope you like it! Have a great day and stay cool!

tea time...

This is going to be short and sweet! It's too late, but I'm using Laura's Sketch #56 and posting it over at 2S4Y anyway...I would love to be on their DT since that's the prize. I worked three 12-14 hours days this week and a few normal days with no A/C...needless to say my time has been limited. And, don't let me forget to mention that Flourishes wants us to use felt and the Little Red Wagon wants trees!

I hope you like it!

Recipe:
Stamps: Papertrey Ink
Ink: ColorBox Chestnut Roan
Paper: Kaiser - Hey Birdie
Other: Prima flower, Recollections mini rose, lace doilie, AC Thickers alpha (felt), handmade pin

2S4Y - Laura's Sketch #56
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #75 - felt
Little Red Wagon #37 - use a tree on your project

Have a great night!

To the world...

Edit: This card was chosen as the Grand Creation Winner at Picture Perfect Creations Week #20!

Hi there - it's another hot one today...but I've been staying cool in my crafty room!

Today's card is for The Shabby Tea Room's Let's Make an Impression (embossing) challenge #17 and I used the colors from the Picture Perfect Creations Color Combo #20 with Kazan's Sketch #56 from 2 Sketches 4 You. It also qualifies for the Cuttlebug Challenge: Be Inspired #91 Doilies and Lace. Put it all together and what do you get...a very pretty card!

The sentiment is one of my all time faves from Verve's One Person stamp set. It's stamped with ColorBox Chestnut Roan and so are the flowers...they're from the same stamp set too! I used my copics to color them in and voila'! The ColorMates Dark Autumn Red is embossed with Cuttlebug Victoria embossing folder and the papers are from Basic Grey Bittersweet. They all sit on some chocolate colored Bazzill cardstock. A little lace, a lotta Prima Say It With Pearls and there you have it!

I really hope you like it...thanks for stopping by today!
