Taylored Expressions is 10!

Taylored Expressions is celebrating it's 10th birthday and I am thrilled to celebrate along with Taylor and her amazingly talented designers! I was a guest designer for TE back in October/November of 2013 and it was one of the highlights of my crafting journey. 

There are almost 40 designers joining the celebration today and you can find the full list to hop along with us on Taylor's Blog. The TE new release went live last night and they are available now in the new category of the shop! Taylored Expressions loves to celebrate birthdays! Here's my card...

I used the Sweet Tooth Tower Stamp and Die Combo because I am a sucker for cupcakes! It's also a nod to one of TE's first characters - Cuppie! I added some color to match the Hello Happiness paper pack and the solid papers are from the Bold and Sweet paper packs. I embossed the pink panel with the Graphic Impressions - Birthday embossing folder and the white strip with the  Loopy Loops embossing folder.  The sweet little cupcake atop my sentiment is the Little Bits-Cupcake and the bow is one of my favorite dies - Mix and Match Bows! Just a couple of candy like dots from the Enamel Shapes-Lollipop make it so sweet!

At the heart of Taylored Expressions is a mission to share joy through the gift of handmade cards. Paper Sweeties 6th Birthday Celebration!

 I don't know about you, but the old saying is definitely true - time sure flies when you're having fun! Paper Sweeties is turning 6! Yes, 6! I've been so busy with weddings, a grandson, a kitchen renovation, a college student, and of course a full-time job, that I can't believe it's been 6 years since Paper Sweeties began and I was on the Design Team!

I know it's been a while since I've been here on my blog, but this is the perfect reason to dust it off and share a card with you. My sweet friend, Debbie, asked me to join in the celebration and I was so excited to come to the party! 
Here's my card...

Everyone who knows Debbie at Paper Sweeties, knows her favorite color is PINK, so my card had to have some signature Paper Sweeties pink on it! I started with my patterned papers - some periwinkle wood grain, fun party words and what's a party without some sprinkles!

This adorable cake is from Paper Sweeties Happy Cake Day set. I colored it up with some Copics, added a little shimmer to the icing and popped it up for dimension.  I added some sparkly white ribbon and more pink grosgrain ribbon too! A couple sequins from the Watermelon variety, and a die cut 6 is just enough to make it sweet! You could use this set for any age and for so many occasions!

Parker's Baptism Invitation

Parker is 6 weeks old already and I am amazed at how time flies! He is the sweetest little baby and I have been enjoying every minute I get to spend with him. This picture was taken on Easter and everyone loved seeing him all dressed up! 

I've been busy making lots of invitations too! As soon as I saw this adorable MFT hot air balloon, I knew I had to have it just for this occasion and I have so many more ideas for how to use it down the road. Here is Parker's Baptism invitation...

Parker's mommy wanted a baby blue and white theme and when I showed her my idea, she loved it too! I found a hot air balloon centerpiece idea on Pinterest using a paper lantern and we are on our way to planning the party!

Not too many frills since he's a boy and this cloud paper made the perfect background. The matching MFT die made cutting out the balloons so easy. I made more than 40 of these and hand colored the hot air balloons just enough without making it impossible. A little shimmer was added to the cross and that's it. 

It's a BOY!!!

It's a BOY and that means I'm a Grandma!!! 
We've known for sometime that my daughter-in-law was having a boy and we even knew his name, but we have been on baby watch for two weeks and the wait is finally over! Parker Matthew Goldman has arrived and to celebrate I made this super fun card with lots and lots of baby items I've been collecting. It was the most fun to make too!

In case you are wondering, the onesie, the word 'baby,' the safety pin and balloon are all from SugarPea Designs. The fox, bee and train are Taylored Expressions and the little bunny is Memory Box. And that adorable box they all sit in is Neat and Tangled. I found it while shopping in my 'not-so-local' scrapbook store and just had to have it. There are so many things I plan to do with this little box die! My sentiment is a combination of Mama Elephant and Clearly Besotted.

I just love this combo of colors for a boy instead of just baby blue. Parker's nursery is decorated in a woodland theme with lots of foxes so this will tie in to that too!

Just a Note...

Hi there! I can't wait to share a fun card with you tonight. I know someone who needs a little pick me up and this card should do the trick! I used the sketch from the SPD Mix it Up challenge and used a soft palette of pastels to create a sweet card for someone special.The stamp set is called Whatever the Weather and there a tons of ways to use all the cute images on this one!  I embossed some clouds on vellum and left the layer loose to keep it lofty and layered it up with  a little color. I added a button with my twine and tied it up with a bow!

Hello Friends! New Blog - New Name!

Hi there!  If you are wondering what's going on, I updated my blog and while I was at it, I changed the name too! I needed a change, a BIG one and I decided to go simple. We all have a treasure trove of paper and do so many things with it that I decided to call this little blog of mine just that, My Paper Trove. This way, people aren't actually looking for paper silhouettes, you know the solid black silhouettes of shapes and such?! I will share lots of things on this blog now, not just cards because I actually do so much more with paper than that!

Recently, I have been busy preparing to be a grandma! Yes ma'am, a grandma! I will be called GiGi and I can't wait! My son and his wife are due in early March! Btw, it's a boy and his name is Parker!
I have been making so many things for the new Mom-to-Be! I'll share those in another post and after the baby shower this weekend so I don't spoil any surprises. (p.s. she knows about the shower!)
Enough about all that, I could go on forever talking about this baby!

Let's talk about this sweet card I made. It's been a while since I busted out the Copics, but now I have a ton of time on my hands, I decided to get back to what makes me happy!  I love, love, love Power Poppy stamps and this one especially because I have a deep love for chubby birds (my family just doesn't understand!) I also love patterned paper, so there's three different ones here, but they seem to work pretty good together.

In case you are wondering, this is the Chickadee in Barberry stamp and I added a fave sentiment from the Simply Camellias set. I thought it was appropriate to say Hi to my blog friends and introduce my new blog! I am going to share it over at Power Poppy for their Power and Spark Winter Blooms challenge.

Hi there! It's time for another holiday cookie party and here are my sugar cookies topped with chocolate drizzle and crushed candy canes! Of course I needed a sweet little card to go along with these treats! I found the cutest sweet treat and sentiment in the Homemade with Love stamp set.

I've been super busy lately as I'm sure we all have, but this little set is perfect for a quick card to go with any sweet treat!  A little paper piecing and a bit of coloring and presto, it's done!

It's Paper Sweeties 4th Birthday!

Hi! It's Paper Sweeties 4th Birthday and how sweet of my friend Debbie to ask me to be a part of the celebration!  I do miss hanging out with all the Paper Sweeties and being on a design team, but this lets me be a part of the team for a very happy occasion! Here's my card for the blog hop...

I paper-pieced my umbrella with a sweet rosy paper and added sentiments from three different Paper Sweeties stamp sets...Showering You with Love, You're Invited and Hello Friend. I can use this sentiment for so many occasions...two of which I will need very soon!

I layered up some coordinating papers, a little LOVE die cut and tied it on with one of my favorite black gingham check ribbons. The black card base makes it pop too. There's a few 'raindrops' courtesy of Paper Sweeties Cupcake Sprinkles!

Missing You is Real Ruff!

Hi there! I know, I know, it's been three months since my last post! I can hardly believe it myself. That doesn't mean that I wasn't being crafty though. I've been busy working a lot and to be honest, my craft room was not something I wanted to face. It was such a mess that I could barely get in there!  But, I won't make any more excuses and I'll get to this cute card I wanted to share today! It fits with the SugarPea SugarSketch 41!

  My daughter is 7 hours away at college and I miss her more than anything in the world! It's real ruff! And...I love, love, love these adorable puppies from the SugarPea Hot Diggity Dog set.  She's been missing her dog too, so this set was perfect for the occasion!

I paired it up with a Mama Elephant sentiment, well, because it was really just what I wanted to say! I added a little sparkle on the dog tags and around the heart. A black button and twine ties it together!  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to get back here a lot sooner!

happy holidays...

Today I'm playing along with a challenge for the first time...The Lawnscaping Challenge! I picked up this adorable stamp set called Toboggan Together by Lawn Fawn and I can't get over how cute it is! I love reindeer and penguins and so this set had my name all over it!

I used a die by MFT to create my shaker card top and perfectly placed sentiment! Lots of sequins in there seperated with a sweet polka dot sheer ribbon and bow with a Santa hat brad! I added shimmer with Stickles to the snowflakes stamped in the shaker card and topped off a few sequins with it too! 

Here's the graphic for the Lawnscaping Challenge...you have to use something you haven't used for a while. Well, since I haven't been here for a few months, everything is my "in with the old"...especially the Santa hat brad!

Hello Friend!

Oh my...can you stand it!?! I've been gone for months and now two posts in one day! I have neglected so many of my stamps and I couldn't just watch this one sit there any longer.

I'm playing along with the super uber talented group at Power Poppy! I love everything about them! This month's Power and Spark challenge is Embellish This! And, that I did... using ribbon, stick pins and Prills!  I used the Simply Camellia set and colored this sweet image with my faves...pinks and green (and a little gray). This just happens to be the same colors of the Color Throwdown #368 so I'm joining in on the fun there too! The red is there, I promise! See it on the stick pin!

Whisking You a Sweet...Holiday!

Hi! I know I haven't been around on this little blog of mine, but I'm still here! I've been pretty busy... I sent my daughter off to college, changed jobs after 21+ years and we've been busy cleaning out and remodeling the basement for my son to move into so he can save money for a house! But enough about that. The truth is I have missed my craft room terribly and it has been the room where we just put everything temporarily...needless to say, it's a mess! I carved out a little path to get to my desk and there I sat last night, crafting away while hubs was at poker! I loved it!

I just got my new Sugar Pea stamps too, so it was the perfect combination. How cute is this little chef in the Whisky Business set!?! I had to have it the minute I saw it. It's just so sweet! I decided to play along with the Sugar Pea Designs sketch challenge too! 

These are not your usual holiday colors, but that's what I love about them! A little coloring and I was back in my groove! I did a little paper-piecing, added a die cut snowflake for the holiday and a few gems because we all love a little bling! I think it's very "me!" Not too much, not too little...just right!

Hi there! It's time for my final Fabby Friday as a member of the  Tiddly Inks Design Team! I can't believe how fast the term has gone by and I'm really going to miss the DT and getting an early peek at Christy's great images! 

This sweet little girl is Danni and she is only part of the image called Danni and Danny.  I colored her up with Copics and layered my daughter's favorite color combo together along with some fun flowers and leaves. I added a Lawn Fawn sentiment and a few gems in the flower centers for a little bling! Maybe this one will find it's way to her college dorm soon!

Paper Sweeties 3rd Birthday Celebration!

Guess what?  Paper Sweeties is turning 3!!! I was thrilled to be asked to be a part of this super sweet celebration too! Congrats to Debbie and her Paper Sweeties!

I used the August challenge inspiration board for my color inspiration here (it's just below if you want to take a peek) and inked up some of my favorite stamps from when I was on the DT. This flower is part of the Paper Sweeties Stand Add-on:Fall Harvest set.  I love that this flower can be used for so many occasions! My sentiment is from the You're Invited set!

I applied a sequin to each flower center topped with a coordinating colored pearl and tied on my sentiment with some pretty pink twine! Here's the inspiration board...

Bright, Bright Sunshiney Day!

Hi there! It's time for another Fabby Friday at Tiddly Inks!  Here's Wryn - Floating Along!  I don't know about you, but I would love to be doing what Wryn is doing right now! She having a great summer chilling on her tube with a cool drink...yummy! I used a banner die for my sun, a few gems here and there and a big paper brad to top the knot on my ribbon.
