Paper Sundaes with Belles n' Whistles!

Good Morning - I hope your weekend is going great! I'll be working later today, but right now it's time for another challenge at Paper Sundaes Challenge blog. You won't want to miss what the Design Team has in store for you this week. Our sponsor is Belles n' Whistles and the challenge is an easy one - you just need to use at least 3 embellishments! I used the Belles n' Whistles Cupcake image this week...isn't she sweet! And how cute is that little kitty! I chose to combine this card with a few (wink!) other challenges, so here it goes.

Since I decided to use the Color Throwdown colors this week, I began by coloring her with some pretty bright colors of copics and cut her out with my Spellbinders scalloped ovals dies. I also folded a piece of cardstock and cut it out witht the same size die leaving just the edge uncut and mounted my image onto this smaller flap on the front - you can see this in the inset picture! It's like a card on top of a card! I added a little bling to her hat, shirt and cupcake with some Stickles.
Can you get enough embossing? I can't - so I embossed my papers using a Cuttlebug Heritage set embossing folder and inked the green cardstock to bring out the embossed pattern. A little yummy lacey ribbon that matches perfectly leads to a ticket stamped with a Papertrey Ink sentiment...the inside sentiment is PTI too! The cupcake stamp inside is from Our Craft Lounge and also has some blingy Stickles on it.

Here come the embellishments - three beautiful hydrangea flowers from Prima with some Basic Grey brads! How easy was that! Okay, so now you need to head on over to the Paper Sundaes challenge blog and see for yourself!

Back to School...for you!

Hello - I hope you had a great weekend! Since back to school day is tomorrow, I thought I would share this cute little card today!

My image is the adorable PI girl from MFT, but in digi form from Heather Ellis' Digi Stamp Characters Etsy Shop who is also the sponsor this week for Sweet Sketch Wednesday! I love this image with her sweet face and cute dress. I paper-pieced her dress and decided that she is wearing tights so I colored them to match her sleeves.

I flipped the sketch on it's side to accomodate my image, but it's a great sketch no matter how you look at it! A little lace, a flower and some brown pearls finish is off!

A Sugarplum Fairy Pixie...

Hi - I said earlier that I had two cards for today, but after getting a retreatment of an old root canal...I thought maybe I wouldn't be able to share card #2 with you today. But here I am...it will just be a quick post tonight though...the numbness is wearing off.

I left this card without a sentiment because I'm not sure what I will use it for...maybe a birthday for my niece, or for one of my daughter's friends...the possibilities are endless, but I followed the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch to a tee and I love the color combination at Picture Perfect Creations this week! I received this image as a thank you for applying for their DT a few weeks ago...she is so cute!

life is sweet...

Happy 'Sundae' to you! It's time for another Paper Sundaes challenge. This week challenges you to use metal on your project and our sponsor is Stamp and Create. You can find the image I used called Cherry Emma there!

I used four different stamps on this lovely card. I required a bit of masking but I think it turned out great! I used Cherry Emma and her stump from CC Designs, the cupcake stack from Our Craft Lounge and the sentiment from Craft Affair. And, since there are really three different images to color, I used quite a bit of my copics for this one. I'll spare you the list and give you a picture instead!

I decided to use the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday and then after coloring her in, I paper-pieced Emma's jeans with a piece of Paper Pizazz denim paper. I love the way they look so real. The cupcakes are 'iced' with Stickles and I love cucakes with a cherry on top! (plus they match the cherries on her shirt)! In keeping with the challenge, I used a metal photo corner, a metal cherry brad and metal brads as flower centers!

'tis the season...for Christmas in July cards!

Good Morning! I think my blogpost title says it all...'tis the season for Christmas in July cards!

Have you ever walked into your little crafty corner of the world just to "straighten up' and organize a few things and then you look at the clock and it has been 3 hours and you are still sitting there working on what should be a masterpiece after that much time? Well, that's what happened to me last night. I printed out a few Mo's Digital Pencil images and took them upstairs to my craft room. I was just going to leave them on the table, but I decided to tidy up a bit...the next thing I know, I have been sitting in there for hours because I decided to color just one of them and then I couldn't stop! And I would love to know how stamps, paper, flowers, ribbon and bling have an almost mystical power that takes over our bodies and we can't stop ourselves!!! Whatever it is...it makes me happy!

So, today I have a Christmas in July card to share with you. As I mentioned, I used a Mo's image called Christmas Fairy Holly and I colored it with the copics shown. This is my first time working with a digital image. The features in the image are so intricate and I am impressed with the details for sure! I love this little fairy with her holly wings and ruffly dress...so girly!

I decided to use my K & Co. Peppermint Twist papers for this one since they are glittery and have all the colors including pinks and aqua that I used in coloring my image. I added a little dot of Xmas Red Stickles to her holly hair accessory and a little Glossy Accents to make her water globe shine like real glass.
