A Special Day at Paper Sundaes!

Hi there! Today is a very special day for two reasons...First, it's a Birthday Celebration theme at Paper Sundaes! I'm honoring one of the blog owners, Christine, since her birthday was last week and you'll never guess how old she was! Secondly, it's my last official post as a Sundae Girl.

This week our sponsor is Simon Says Stamp and you can get this adorable Nellie Snellen image there...it's called Dawn with Birthday Cake...and she is so stinkin' cute! She's colored with Copics, cut out with Spellbinders circle dies and matted with the some BoBunny Double Dot in green and Spellbinders Lacey Circle dies using BoBunny Double Dot in pink. Those giant numbers are from Papertrey Ink and are hanging like a little ornament from a sparkly blue ribbon. There's some roses, flourishes and some pearls of course! Here's a look at the inside of my card...the sentiment is from My Favorite Things!

What Birthday Celebration would be complete without a little gift? I made this little box to match using The Cutting Cafe's Long Window Box. I used the same Basic Grey Urban Prairie dp and added an acetate panel on the window. It's dressed up using some of the same embellishments to match the card!

Here's the set...what's in the box is going to be a surprise for the birthday girl, so I made a sleeve around it to hold the embellies...that way, I can open it up and fill the box and put it all back together easily!

I would just like to say how thankful I am for the team at Paper Sundaes for being there when I needed them and all the positive encouragement I have received from them during my time on the DT. They are a very special group of women who are talented, kind and generous! I will truly miss them and I hope to keep in touch in blogland often! (hint, hint ladies!)

Wanna join in the fun celebrating Christine's birthday and win a prize too? Check out all the details at Shana's blog!

Be sure to stop by the Paper Sundaes Challenge to see what the rest of the Design Team has to show you and meet the new DT ladies as well...they're fabulous! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Hello Sunshine!

Hi there! It's time again for a fun new By LORi Designs Challenge! These colors just sing Spring to me...here are the color names... Pacific Point, Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron, and White! Here's my card for this week's challenge...

I just think this little Lollipop Ella is the cutest character! I colored her with Copics, cut it out with my Spellbinders oval dies and layered her up with some BoBunny Double Dot turquoise and this fun yellow dp from October Afternoon. I added a pretty satin ribbon and dotty bow, a few gems and topped it off with a big 'ole daisy from K & Co! My sentiment is from The Cutting Cafe' and is part of a great set called One Spring Day! I colored the flowers with Copics and added a little Diamond Stickles to match the sparkle on my daisy above! All of my edges are inked with Memento turquoise ink too!

Be sure to stop over at the By LORi Designs Challenge and see what the rest of the Design Team has to show you...it's super cute!

Happy Spring!

Good Morning and Happy Friday! Are you ready for Spring?! Well, we are too at the Stamp Something Challenge! This week our theme is Something Spring and our sponsor is Simon Says Stamp!

I have had this very Springy Phindy's Place image called Pretty Blooms for quite some time now and have never colored it...until now! I hate it when that happens! Anyway, I love the sweet little pattern and bright colors in this Memory Box paper, so I used it as my color inspiration.

This awesome Spring sentiment is from The Cutting Cafe' set called One Spring Day...it's brand new! I added a bow, some roses and a few gems and voila'! I love a nice and easy card!
There's even a bit of Stickles (which you can find at Simon Says Stamp) on the butterflies and flower centers in the sentiment!

Be sure to stop by the Stamp Something Challenge Blog and see the Spring Somethings the Design Team has created! Play along for your chance at the great prize too!

Best Wishes...A Bridal Shower Card!

I hope your day is going well! I'm off today and out and about, but I scheduled a post for you to see this oh-so-sweet umbrella card I made for my soon to be sister-in-law! Her bridal shower is coming up at the end of the month and I couldn't resist this Umbrella Shaped Card from The Cutting Cafe'!

Your cutting files come with the folded base card, the shaped top piece and two different invite sheets...one for bridal showers and one for baby showers! That's one of the things I love about The Cutting Cafe' files...you can use them for so many occasions! I chose to make my card without the shower invite information.

I cut my base from cardstock and my top shape from this beautiful floral dp. Under the front edge, I added some lace that was ruffled as it was glued down. The bride is using hot pink, so that's the color of the bow! I also added a hot pink button tied with some embroidery floss and held on by a tiny punched flower for some stability! The sentiment was found in my stash and serves as the perfect message!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Our fabulous sponsor this week is The Cutting Cafe'...where you can find so many great ideas and cutting files for you projects! I know...I'm on their DT too!

This Flower Pot Shaped Card is so versatile! You could use it for so many occasions! I chose to pair it with a Papertrey Ink sentiment for a special Get Well or Wishing You Well card! My 91 year old grandfather has spent some time in the hospital and rehab lately and I think this would cheer him up! He loves handmade cards!

Your cutting file comes with the shaped card, two pieces of the flower pot, a flower background layer and several sizes of flowers to use! I chose to use my own die cut flowers and leaves using a Spellbinders set. I layered them up and topped them all with buttons! A double bow made from some sparkly purple ribbon is the finishing touch!

Bundle of Love

Oh my...have you ever seen anything so sweet and cute! I just couldn't resist using this Cap Shaped Card set as soon as it was released by The Cutting Cafe'! It's perfect for babies, but you can also use it for St. Patty's Day as the cutting files show it and as a Winter cap too!

I cut out the folded base in green cardstock and then added the blue layer of polka dotted paper, the oh so pretty floral paper layer and the brim cut from some pink cardstock. Then I added the little pouf shape you get as a part of the set! This swirly ribbon is a perfect match to my cap and pink rose and the sentiment is stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves on a Spellbinders cut tag!

Tomorrow is a New Day!

I was thrilled when I saw Mona's newest CR84FN color challenge palette! I love pinks and purples and kraft is the perfect neutral, so I just had to play along! Here is the beautiful graphic for the challenge...

I used so many wonderful stamps to create this card, but the focal point is this gorgeous Heart Flower Set from The Cutting Cafe'. I colored it with Copics and blended, blended, blended! The leaf is from the same set and is also colored with Copics. I stamped my kraft background with a Heartfelt Creations Elegant Word background in light pink and added some Papertrey Ink Embellishment stamps on the corners in purple. The scalloped edge is cut with a Sizzix die and a pretty piece of lace tops it off perfectly! A large gem creates the flower center. The sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink stamp set too!

p.s. ... I LOVE you!

Hi there! Are you ready to see some adorable sweets for my sweeties! I love templates and this little box is the perfect size to hold one of my favorite candy bars (or one of your sweetie's favorites)! It's called the Long Window Box from The Cutting Cafe'. I used my favorite heart paper from Basic Grey and inked up the edges a bit. The window is covered with a little piece of acetate (recycled from the backing of one of the many clear stamps I have purchased lately!)

I made a matching card and tag to go along with my little gift box. The card backgound is a colored image from the Words of Love Colored Printable Stamp Set. I also colored my Fun With Hearts tag to match! In the center of my card is a circulars sentiment from the It's All About Love set. These sets can be mixed and matched to suit your needs and the possibilities are really endless! The colored images make it so easy to assemble a little gift set like this in no time! I just added some ribbon and bit of bling to my card, tag and box and that's it!

Here are the links of The Cutting Cafe' files used for this project...

It's All About Love
- circular sentiment
Fun With Hearts - tag

A Cutting Cafe' Love Card!

I loved my last pink and black card so much, I decided to make another one! This time using the
Fun with Valentine's Day set from The Cutting Cafe'. I cut out this super cute heart banner and colored it a bit with a few pink Copics. This black, pink and white "girlfriend" paper was the perfect pair for my card! I used two of the sentiments...the LOVE at the top is fastened with a glitter heart brad and the Kiss me...You fool... at the bottom. A string of pearls an a pretty pink ribbon are the finishing touches!
Stop on over at The Cutting Cafe' to see all the new Valentine's sets...you'll LOVE them!

From Our House to Yours...and something yummy!

Hi there - just one more post from me tonight! I just have to share this with you! I know you always hear me saying how much fun it is to mix and match The Cutting Cafe' files...and here's another card that does just that! I used the Christmas Frames set (I chose to use the Merry Christmas from our house to yours sentiment) and the Apron Shaped Card set to create this special message. And you would think that using an apron would mean something yummy to go with it, right? Here you go...

These are my son's favorite cookies and I usually make them several times right before Christmas because they tend to disappear. They are called S'More Chippers (it's a Pillsbury recipe) and they are basically a chocolate chip cookie with half a large marshmallow on top and swirled melted chocolate on top of that. Heaven is what we call them!

To finish up the details on my card...the papers are BoBunny and Basic Grey, there are a few embellishments by K & Co., some holly and berries from Making Memories and a couple of pearls!

Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Sundaes and The Cutting Cafe' Combined!

Hi there! I don't know about you, but time is just getting away from me these days and working full-time with two teenagers is making things a little busier than usual. I am really going to have to get moving to get ready for Christmas in the next couple of weeks! Thank goodness I have a few days off this week!

I'm a little late, but better late than never, right! This week's Paper Sundaes theme is Gift It! and our sponsor is Stamp and Create! I have combined some simple embellishments and tools you can get at Stamp and Create along with the great pre-colored items from The Cutting Cafe' to make an easy to assemble little gift set to give this holiday season.

One of my co-workers will receive this card with a matching tag, along with a set of little gift cards which are perfect little thank you cards to give out to her friends! This would also make a great teacher gift too! Teachers always send thank you notes for their gifts and this set of three cards would be perfect for the occasion! They are clean and simple enough for anyone! On each card, I added three gems and a little red Stickles (which you can get at Stamp and Create).

I used several files from The Cutting Cafe' for this gift set! First, I used the colored version of the background words from The Night Before Christmas Background set. I printed it out and then printed my ornament banner right on top of the background words. I also cut out the black and white version of the ornament banner and colored them with Copics, cut them out and paper-pieced them right on top of my background. I added some Platinum Stickles and a few gems on my sentiment.

My tag is cut using the Label Eight dies from Spellbinders (which you can get at Stamp and Create) and it uses the Christmas Colored Banners set. I used several items from the Christmas Mini Colored Set including the background for my mini cards, the sentiment on my main card and the great images I used on all the cards and tag that I cut out using a Fiskars circle punch!

These colored cutting files make it so easy to just print them out and easily cut them to fit your project...whatever that may be!

A Cutting Cafe' Christmas Card

Hi there! I'm just popping in to share a quick Christmas Card with you. I say quick because Regina makes everything so easy for you when you use The Cutting Cafe' Christmas files to make your cards! I used the Christmas Bingo Card Set where you get a bonus sheet of 8 mini bingo cards. I chose to use the DEC*25 and SANTA bingo cards!

I also used the Snowflake Huge Circle Printable Stamp Set and cut out the snowflake circle using my Spellbinders circle dies. I colored in the little snowflakes with a light green Copic marker. My sentiment is from the same set and I cut it out using a Fiskars punch. I inked all my edges and added a little bling on the sentiment circle and in the corner of my embossed background paper. Don't you just love this fun twisted rope bow! A little Diamond Stickles on the snowflakes gives it a finishing touch!

This card came together so easily and all because The Cutting Cafe' makes it so much fun to mix and match elements from several sets!

Hot Cocoa Just for YOU...

It's always exciting when The Cutting Cafe' releases a fun, new cutting file to play with...in this case, it's called the Hot Chocolate Holder! This little treat holder is perfect for a pair of hot chocolate packets to give to a friend...and if you're lucky, they might let you share it with them too!

I used some new double sided Fancy Pants papers and my so very new Verve Winter Mittens stamp for this one! It literally came in the mail today and I just got it about 5 hours ago...that's one hot little stamp! (pun intended!) I paper-pieced the mittens with the same dp! The tag and inside greeting are both from the cutting files you get with this great hot chocolate holder!

I got a new snowflake stamp (by McGill) and also used my trusty Martha Stewart punch too. A jewel brad holds my tag on the front and the snowflake and inside sentiment are adorned with some sparkly red bling! That little heart stamp is from the same Verve set! I glued my ribbon all the way around except for the end tabs and tied it in a bow to hold it all together. I love to see people's faces when they are opening a little treat like this...especially when they are pulling on the bow (the anticipation look)!

Here is the inside before the hot cocoa...

And here it is with the packets of hot cocoa in it...

Head on over to The Cutting Cafe' for your very own Hot Chocolate Holder template! You will love it! You could also use this for my favorite hot beverage...TEA! or milled cider...or spices...the possibilities are endless!

Happy Halloween!

Okay, so I know Halloween is today and it's late, but I don't know how I missed posting this! So, you'll just have to see one more little Halloween creation by moi' and then it's on to Fall, Thanksgiving, Christmas...you get the point!

This is a card, but I'm not going to use it as a card. I'm going to put it on a scrapbook page and then write inside of it...aka hidden journaling! I used The Cutting Cafe' Halloween Time set. I love these little bingo cards and the great images that can me mixed and matched to meet your needs! I colored the heading with Copics and added a little bling here and there...it went together so quickly...that's another thing I love about The Cutting Cafe's digital stamps and cutting files. Stay tuned for all the great Fall and Thanksgiving items coming your way soon!
