It's your birthday...

Edit: This card was chosen as Top 3 at KL Stampin N Scrappin Challenge #38 - Embossing and it was featured at Flutterby Wednesdays!

This is my second post tonight, so scroll down for more!

I was really excited when I saw the Card Patterns sketch this week...I have had an idea in mind and it was the perfect week to try it out. I'm including this card in the following challenges:

Card Patterns Sketch #72 - great sketch!
KL Stampin N' Scrappin #38 - Dry embossing
Flutter by Wednesday # 112 - butterfly, fairy or angel
Sweet Stampin' Challenge #34 - Things with Wings
Cute Card Thursday # 120 - School's Out for Summer
The Shabby Tea Room # 17 - Let's Make an Impression - embossing

I started with some of my favorite papers from Basic Grey's Urban Prairie and embossed them with four different embossing folders - Sizzix Birthday and Cuttlebug's Divine Swirls, Swiss Dots and Floral Fantasy embossing folders to achieve a 'quilted' look. All the edges are inked with different inks including ColorBox Lime, Memento Rose Bud and A la Mode Aqua. I cut out the butterfly square from the same papers and stamped my sentiment from The Cat's Pajamas in Memento Tuxedo Black and set it on pop up dots for a little more dimension. The flowers are Prima and the brad is Urban Prairie. I used some cord from Crate Paper Katlin collection, a few Recollections pearls and bling, and a sparkly butterfly from Jolee's to finish it off! I love these summery colors, don't you!?!

I hope you like it!

I love you...

This card got an Honorable Mention Cup of Tea at The Shabby Tea Room!

It's late, but I had to work again today...I just wanted to share this little girly, oh so shabby card with you. It's for a number of challenges which I will list below. I just love these yummy colors of pink, vanilla and chocolate, don't you! I used Basic Grey Porcelain papers...the flower, bumble bee, pink chain link border and brown lace border are paper stickers from the collection's elements page top the ivory lace...they don't look like paper! I used light pink, french vanilla and brown Bazzill papers and a striped paper also from BG give it that cozy cottage feel. I used my new (to me) pink bubblegum shabby seam binding which I purchased from Debbie at her Etsy Shop...it's so yummy...you can find it here! I love how it looks with all the other textures!

I just had to add a little bling...so I filled in the flower center with Recollections pearls and topped off the ribbon with a pin through some of the inspiration colored buttons. The sentiment is from Verve's One Person stamp set...I used Memento Rich Cocoa as well as to ink up all the edges of the papers. Another paper flower in the center gives it the finishing touch!

Challenges:
Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge #3 - Sketch
Just Us Girls#38 - Colors - light pink, chocolate, vanilla
Crazy 4 Challenges#42 - Paper Flowers
KL Stampin n Scrappin #35 - Let's Get Shabby
The Shabby Tea Room #15 - Cottage Comfort - stripes
Meljen's Challenge #12 - Fiber, Ribbon, Lace
Pile It On #24 - Stickers

I hope you like it...goodnight friends!

butterfly kisses...

Good morning...I'm working today so I just have a quick post to share with you. I'm playing for the first time over at three different challenges...I'm using the sketch from Paper Sundaes Challenge 22, KL Stampin n Scrappin Challenge 35 is to 'get shabby' and Joan's Gardens Challenge #2 is asking for vintage and the use of Spellbinders Nestabilities. It also qualifies for Meljen's Challenge #12 - Fiber, Ribbon and Lace.

I started by stamping this sweet little image of Party Emma by CC Designs with Memento Rich Cocoa. I colored her with copics (E00, E000, E13, E57, G82, BG72, RV11, RV23) and added a couple tiny little Recollections pearls to her dress as buttons and in her hair as a 'barrette.' I think she looks like she is going to put that ribbon in her hair! I cut her out using the Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Ovals Large Nestabilities and used a trick I learned from Becca Feeken for the mat using the same size die.

The papers are all Making Memories Garden Party and are all edged in Rich Cocoa for a vintage feel. On the bottom is a shabby layer of crinkled ribbon, lace, and more of the MM papers with a little Ranger Distress Vintage Photo stickles on the polka dots to add a little dimension and bling. The slightly distressed flowers peeking out from the top of the bow are Making Memories too! Prima flowers top it all off with a touch of pearls and the butterfly is Martha Stewarts's classic butterfly punch with some light green pearls!

I really hope you like it...if so, please leave a comment!

Have a great Saturday!

one of a kind...Happy Birthday

Hi there - I had to work eleven hours today, so I'm posting late...my son is having his Senior Portraits done in the morning and I didn't think I would have time to sit down and post this...so here I am. I wanted to make sure I got this in for the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge # 117, the KLSNS Challenge #34 Girly Birthday and the Color Throwdown #97.

I am a pink lovin' girl, but not all girls love pink. In fact, my daughter's best friends hate pink. So, I decided to use the throwdown colors on this one...it can still be girly and not be all pink! The Making Memories Chloe's Closet papers were perfect. I really enjoyed using the TE sketch too! I'm really tired, so I'm not going to get into specifics on any "how to's" for this card...just enjoy it...I am.

Supplies:
Taylored Expression Fresh Flowers stamp and sentiment
Making Memories Chloe's Closet papers and embellishment
Bazzill French Vanilla cardstock
Prima Flower
Recollections pearls
Copics: RV11, RV23, G82, YR02
Memento Rich Cocoa ink
Ranger Distress Stormy Sky ink (to make the bird a little darker blue)
Martha Stewart deco fans edge punch

Have a great night everyone!
Hugs,
