Hi there! I'm thrilled to be a Guest Sweetie at the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge this week! I was equally thrilled when I saw this awesome inspiration photo...it's no secret I love, love, love pink and green!!!

For my card, I used this beautiful butterfly image called Daisy Butterfly by Crissy Armstrong at Whimsy Stamps! I colored it with Copics and cut it out with a Spellbinders die...(I wish I had a nickel for every time I typed that!) The sentiment is from Verve and I cut it out with the banner Spellbinders dies. I added some black gem flourishes and some clear gems in the corners!

Joy to the World Tag...

I am so excited to be the Guest Sweetie at the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge this week! Thank you to Rachel for inviting me! One person each week from the Top 5 the previous week will be chosen to be a Guest Sweetie!

This week's inspiration photo was right up my alley! I love all the shimmery white with the touch of color - what a yummy cupcake this is! Their sponsor is Amber Ink and they are offering 'ipaper' and a digi set as a prize!


My tag started with the Die-namics Decorative Doily die from My Favorite Things. I cut it out on some sparkly paper and embossed it with a Cuttlebug Divine Swirls embossing folder. Then I added this great big snowflake cut with the larger of the dies from the Our Daily Bread Designs snowflake die set and topped it with the smaller die cut out with purple. Some green and white pearls and an irridescent snowflake finish it off. My sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and is also stamped on the sparkly white paper. A little ribbon and it's ready for a present!

A Cutie Patootie Christmas Box!

Hi there! Just popping in to share a sweet Christmas gift box with you since I will be in Washington D.C. all day tomorrow with my dd's field trip and I had planned to post it tomorrow (and I need to link it so many times). We are visiting the White House and the Capitol and a few more stops along the way so it will be lots of fun! As many times as I have been to D.C., I have never been to either of those two monuments.

So, I couldn't wait to play along at the first challenge for the new Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge Blog and I finally had a little time this past weekend to make my project. The challenge is to make a 3x3 box using one of Elisabeth's images. The adorable image I used is called Eden's 2nd Christmas and she can found on Elisabeth's blog...HERE! I simply love the sweet face and all the little details of this image right down to the snowflakes on her little sleeper.

I colored the image with my Copics and added just a few layers of paper for the top of my box. I wanted the image to be the main focus and stand out so I didn't really embellish the box top. Except for this great big bow that makes every gift special! I did add a few bits of red Stickles on the holly in her hair and the ornaments on the little tree. Some Glossy Accents on the ornament she is reaching for gives it a little shine too and matches the shiny ornaments on my dp from Imaginisce I used for the box top!

Happy Harvest...

Hi there and TGIF! It's Friday and that means a new Stamp Something Challenge! This week we have a super sketch for you to use and our sponsor is DRS Designs.


I really like this sketch...it has a lot of potential and you can embellish it any way you want. The image I used is the Cornucopia from Sweet & Sassy Stamps which is available in both digi and clear stamps. I colored it with Copics and cut it out with a Spellbinders circle die. I made my own designer paper by stamping this text stamp on Bazzill french vanilla paper using Memento Rich Cocoa ink. (I'm not sure what language it is though.) It looks great with these rich, burgandy swirl and gingham papers from The Paper Studio and this cute polka dotted shimmery paper. I used my Eggshell Copic to color the background of my image paper since it was stamped on bright white and that would just not do for this card.

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and is stamped with ColorBox Dark Brown ink. The dark red Queen & Co. pearls give it a little shimmer and the inked edges add that bit of rustic to this project. I added a copper, sheer organdy bow and topped it off with an antique bronze brad.

Take a Guess...!

I hooked you in with that title, didn't I!?! Actually, this Candy Corn Shaped Card from The Cutting Cafe' is going to be used as a ballot for the kids at my daughter's costume party to take a guess how many candy corn are in this little jar and whoever is closest...gets to keep it!

With this Candy Corn Shaped Card cutting file, you get the card base, a shaped piece and the top and bottom layers of the candy corn to cut out in whatever you like in any order you like! You want white on the top...do it...yellow on the bottom...do it...you can do whatever you want with these versatile cutting files! I added a little polka dot bow and a little bling with some Stickles! I didn't want to embellish this too much because it will get handled a lot that night! The words on the front are from the JustRite Stampers Times Roman font set...I love that you can customize anything with these fonts!

Good Morning! It's a gloomy day here today, so I thought I'd warm it up a bit with this Thanksgiving card I made for my 91 year old grandfather. His birthday is only two weeks before Thanksgiving and he likes to sit his cards and gifts out in his apartment (which he calls his "Cozy Corner") to look at throughout the day. I hope this one will make him happy when he looks at it!

I used the JustRite Friday Challenge 039 theme of Give Thanks and went for a faux quilt or patchwork for this card. The papers are all from that K & Co. paper pad you've seen quite a bit lately. I used rubon stitches in two different patterns and topped it off with a rich brown sheer bow and a few gold pearls.

Now let's talk about the stamps! I used the JustRite Autumn Blessings set for the image of the Indian Corn and colored it with copics. This wasn't a favorite image of mine at first, but after I started coloring it, it came to life and I love it! Then I stamped the sentiment and border from the Give Thanks Nested Frames set and colored in the leaves and acorns with copics in various Fall colors. I can't tell you enough how much I really like these nested borders and sentiments sets. They are so versatile! The possibilities really are endless.

Happy Halloween!

Hi there! I have another card to share today...it's cute and fun and that's what we need right now on a rainy Monday here! I used this adorable witch who is obviously on her way to a party! She is called Spooky Birthday from Tiddly Inks and you can get her here! Their challenge ending today is to use Diamond Glaze or Crackle and as you can see from my inset pic, I went for the glossy on both the cake and the gift bag!

I colored her with copics and I have to say I am still not a fan of coloring black on images, but I am learning! I couldn't wait to use this funky plaid Halloween ribbon! This paper is just too cute with all the candy and goodies! Of course I had to add a sparkly crow and a little star charm to bling it up a bit...oh and there's yellow Stickles on her hat too! The sentiment is from The Cutting Cafe' Halloween This and That Set! A few colored pearls and tada!

The Shabby Tea Room #30 - Vintage Halloween

Well, I'm not sure why, but Blogger decided to mess up my post, so here it is - redone!

This week at The Shabby Tea Room we are challenging you to create a Vintage Halloween Card using this inspiration photo! Our sponsor is Sassy Studio Designs!

I just love the image on my card from Crafty Secrets! They have the most adorable vintage images and stamps. I chose this little girl because I love her costume and I like that cute face on the pumpkin too! The vintage shabby seam binding is from Deb's Simple Treasures Etsy Shop! I even used it on my Jenni Bowlin vintage button!

The background is embossed with a Cuttlebug dots embossing folder and the chair and bats are from Martha Stewart's Halloween collection. I used a copic marker to color the pom-pom fringe on the bottom from white to pale orange! I used the one of the Halloweed Tags from Sassy Studios and cut it out with a scalloped circle punch, distressed it with Ranger Distress Tea Dye Ink and popped it up on my card!

Owl always have you by my side...

Hi there -I'm spending this day off catching up on all I missed while I was working all weekend and getting ready for the next two long days at work. I'm not feeling so well, so I guess it's a good day to just lay around watching TV and resting.

I have a card today, but I'm not sure that it's really "me." I made it last night and I just keep coming back to it and saying "hmmmm" - know what I mean?

Week #28 challenge called School Days sponsored by Digi Doodle Shop! Stop on over at their store and check out all the great images they have! Your challenge this week is to make a card or project based on this inspiration photo with a school theme!

I used Digi Doodle Shop's image called Vintage Bike and colored it with copics. The moment I saw it parked up against these flowers, it had a feel like an old-fashioned school-aged child had taken a break on the way home from school to read a book in a meadow. The image actually has flowers in front of the back wheel too, but I swapped them out for a stack of books topped with an apple to follow the theme. I also added a little grass in front of the back wheel!

I matted my image a few times to incorporate the colors I wanted to use for this card...the black of the blackboard and the red of the apple. I also used colors on the bike to represent the wood of the ruler and the gray of the metal tin and eyeglasses. At first, I didn't have a sentiment, but then it came to me...so I went with the "B' theme - bike and books are on the front. The inside of the card says bike, books and Beautiful You! I finished it off with this luscious red and ivory striped ribbon and a Jenni Bowlin vintage button tied with some of Deb's shabby seam binding. You can find it in her Etsy Shop here!

We are never alone...

Good morning - it's so beautiful here in Southern PA today and I am off for 3 days...the kids are at school and the hubby is on a golf trip so you know what that means?!!!!! Lots of ME time this weekend!

Remember I told you I went to a stamp show last weekend...well, here is one of the stamp sets I purchased from a CTMH booth. I was so drawn to these pretty flowers and this beautiful sentiment that I just had to have it.

This card has a lot of things going on too...I heat embossed the background with PTI Flourishes stamps, embossed the circle mat as well as all the pieces of patterned paper. Then I inked up the dp's to bring out the pattern of the embossing. I just love this ruffly ribbon from Spare Parts too!
If you look closely you can see some blinginess from Stickles as I made my own glitter paper!

Hi there - it's my long week at work which means long days and lots of them...keeps me looking forward to my easy week. Anyway, I have a quick one to share with you today since it's my only day off and I have plenty to do.

I love this paper collection and I have been hoarding it so I dug it out and put it to good use...and what better than to wish Flourishes a Happy 3rd Birthday using Mercy's sketch and the Cupcake Inspiration colors and of course, a butterfly for Danni's Flutter By Wednesdays challenge!

I used a Flourishes Seasonal Wreaths stamp and colored it with copics, cut it out with some Spellbinders dies and paired it up with this pretty paper collection. A few pearls a punched butterfly, some rubons...and voila'!

Hello - I couldn't wait to get this posted tonight. I am finally feeling better after the whole emergency root canal fiasco...and now it's time to have some fun!

I started with a Paper Co. scalloped circle that is slightly blingy with an irridescence to it. I layered my adorable Spunkette image on more bling paper and accented the corners with green bling cut with my Spellbinders flourish accents dies.

I'm following the sketch over at Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge and it is so girly with a bow and flourishes! I used some of my favorite ribbon from Autumn Leaves French Twist collection and of course, I had to use pearls! The flowers are both blingy with Stickles frosted lace and yellow. I had a lot of fun making this card. I hope you like it!

I just love you...

Hello - I'm back again...just trying to fit everything in to this one day before I go on a mini vacation! I have always been a fan of Cicely Mary Barker's flower fairies and I completely forgot that I got this great kit featuring her fairies some years ago...until I happened upon it in my craft room today. Well, it just called my name and I had to use some of it!

I started with some of my favorite Bazzill piglet and layered it with a vintage greenish and pink collage paper I found in my stash. Then came the layers of yummy lace, embossed pearly paper and of course the fairie embellishment! Isn't she so cute. I'm using pink and green here because pink is my favorite color (for the Flutter by Wednesday challenge) and the Cupcake Inspirations photo is pink and green...a great color combo! The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Hydrangea Birthday Card...

Hi there - you know, I can't remember the last time I had a whole weekend off and I didn't have anything planned, I had no one expecting me to be somewhere at a certain time and nothing to do...except whatever I want to do! Yup, that's what I got to do all weekend. So, I did spend quite a bit of it in my crafty room.

I have a card to share with you that I made with one of my newest stamps. It's a stamp by Make and Impression. After you stamp the image there is a blank space where the flower petals go. This entire space gets covered in mini punched petals. The punches are made to match the stamps. Let me tell you, this is a job better
accomplished by someone with shorter fingernails than me! I spent a lot of time just trying to get these just right! I also decided that because my sentiment was the only wordage on the card, I should put a hydrangea on the inside too...I have to say, I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. It's a bit discerning when you stamp the image, color the leaves and see a giant blank, uninteresting space and then you have to make it pretty and interesting. I just love the dimension they give to the card. I took a close up so you can see for yourself!

Hi there! I've spent a good part of today in my craftroom, but not exactly creating anything...well I am creating more organized chaos! I decided to re-do (again) my flower storage, my paper storage and my stamps. So, I did sneak a little creative time in though!

This card is for the Paper Sundaes Challenge #27 - Make Your Own Flowers. I have been trying to find the time to learn from this Zoe Pearn tutorial and I finally made the time! You can find it here! I used the sketch from Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #122 (above) and I was inspired once again by the colors in the yummy cupcakes over at Cupcake Inspirations #68. I'm also playing at Stamp Simply #149 - Two's Company - I used two butterflies!

I am very happy with this first attempt at this flower...there is so much dimension on this card now with the flower and the butterflies that are leaning forward. It's one of those hard to get into an envelope cards!

I guess I better get back to work...who knows, I might be back tonight!
