It's Your Birthday...Happy Birthday!

Hi there - it's my day off, but I've been so busy...making treats for a cheerleading bake sale, making locker decorations for the high school soccer team and making this card to share with you!

This card gave me a chance to play along at some of the challenges I have missed in the last few weeks. I'm lovin' this little freebie image called Bo from Tiddly Inks. Their challenge this week is to use one of their animal stamps. I colored him with my copics and then I paired it up with some great papers from my stash and paper-pieced the balloons to match! These little sentiment stamps are a couple of my faves from The Cat's Pajamas You Say It's Your Birthday set.

I used the Mojo Monday sketch, which is a miracle I got that one done in time, and I incorporated the Moxie Fab World Offset Scalloped Challenge in this one...it's not too much since it's a Boy or Man's Birthday card! My color inspiration was from Picture Perfect Creations and the plaid, stitching and stars satisfy some of the other challenges!

The Challenges:
Tiddly Inks #21 - Our Pets
Mojo Monday - Sketch #156
Picture Perfect Creations #30 - Blue, Green, Brown
The Creative Cottage #23 - Boy Birthday
Moxie Fab World - Offset Scallop Gallop
TCP Tuesday #126 - Mad for Plaid
Copic Oz #2 - Card for a Man
Stampin Royalty #37 - Stitching Madness
Little Red Wagon #46 - stars

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by! Stay tuned early next week for some very exciting news and some blog candy!

Paper Sundaes with Belles n' Whistles!

Good Morning - I hope your weekend is going great! I'll be working later today, but right now it's time for another challenge at Paper Sundaes Challenge blog. You won't want to miss what the Design Team has in store for you this week. Our sponsor is Belles n' Whistles and the challenge is an easy one - you just need to use at least 3 embellishments! You can definitely handle that - right! Belles n' Whistles has the most beautiful images by Elisabeth Bell ...you will want the whole collection when you see how great they are!

I used the Belles n' Whistles Cupcake image this week...isn't she sweet! And how cute is that little kitty! I chose to combine this card with a few (wink!) other challenges, so here it goes.

Since I decided to use the Color Throwdown colors this week, I began by coloring her with some pretty bright colors of copics and cut her out with my Spellbinders scalloped ovals dies. I also folded a piece of cardstock and cut it out witht the same size die leaving just the edge uncut and mounted my image onto this smaller flap on the front - you can see this in the inset picture! It's like a card on top of a card! I added a little bling to her hat, shirt and cupcake with some Stickles.
Can you get enough embossing? I can't - so I embossed my papers using a Cuttlebug Heritage set embossing folder and inked the green cardstock to bring out the embossed pattern. A little yummy lacey ribbon that matches perfectly leads to a ticket stamped with a Papertrey Ink sentiment...the inside sentiment is PTI too! The cupcake stamp inside is from Our Craft Lounge and also has some blingy Stickles on it.

Here come the embellishments - three beautiful hydrangea flowers from Prima with some Basic Grey brads! How easy was that! Okay, so now you need to head on over to the Paper Sundaes challenge blog and see for yourself!

Other Challenges:
Sweet Sketch Wednesday #66 - sketch!
TCP Tuesday 125 - photo inspiration!
The Color Throwdown #109 - turquoise, pink, green, yellow
4 Crafty Chicks - pink, yellow, turquoise, green
Cuttlebug Challenge - Be Inspired #100 - Happy Birthday plus at least 2 layers
Quixotic Challenge #40 - Move It - my flap moves!
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #83 - ticket

a pennant thank you...

Hi there - just another short and sweet one tonight! I needed a thank you card so I whipped up this one. I gotta tell ya...I love this new pennant die from My Favorite Things - I'm going to have fun with this little diddy! I'm so dreading going to work for another 12 hour day tomorrow with air conditioning. I work in a furniture store and it's almost unbearable for our customers too. Hopefully it will be running by Tuesday (fingers crossed).

TCP meets SFYTT and Raise the Bar...

Hi there - just popping in to share a little card I made last night...I finally got a second to get working on last week's TCP Tuesday #117 color challenge of golden yellow, lime and raspberry. I combined it with Raise the Bar's challenge #26 called baked goodies and I used the Sketch for You to Try for this week.

I love this color combination...it reminds me of summer. I chose my baked goodie to be this yummy violet cupcake stamp from Lockhart stamps. It's stamped with Memento tuxedo black and I used copics E11, Y15, YG05, RV14 and RV23 to color it in...then I dotted the center of the flowers with some yellow Stickles for a little sparkle! The cardstock is all DCWV and the dp and bumble bee are from Basic Grey's Urban Prairie collection....one of my faves. The HBD sentiment is from The Cat's Pajamas and the pearl is Queen & Co. The yellow buttons and twine are from my stash!

I'm working today, so I gotta run...I hope you like it. It's nice to make a simple and cute card that makes people smile!

Have a great day!

Happy Birthday...

Hi there again...I have a birthday day card to share with you... I made it for my son's girlfriend who will be 16 on Thursday. I followed the sketch from Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #72 and was inspired by the colors in both the yummy colors of the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #64 photo and the TCP Tuesday #115 mosaic photo!

I used Creative Imaginations Narratives papers, chipboard and a cute little butterfly brad for this one. The sentiment is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the card is edged with ColorBox Aquamarine chalk ink. I blinged it up with some Recollections tiny pearls and Waterfall Stickles on the Prima flower. The ribbon is AC rick rack. I hope you like it...and I hope she likes it too. She has been around for almost 3 years, so she watches me make lots of scrappy stuff. This is the first card I made for her though.

Have a great evening...we're on our way to see Toy Story 3!
