Good Morning! It's a gloomy day here today, so I thought I'd warm it up a bit with this Thanksgiving card I made for my 91 year old grandfather. His birthday is only two weeks before Thanksgiving and he likes to sit his cards and gifts out in his apartment (which he calls his "Cozy Corner") to look at throughout the day. I hope this one will make him happy when he looks at it!

I used the JustRite Friday Challenge 039 theme of Give Thanks and went for a faux quilt or patchwork for this card. The papers are all from that K & Co. paper pad you've seen quite a bit lately. I used rubon stitches in two different patterns and topped it off with a rich brown sheer bow and a few gold pearls.

Now let's talk about the stamps! I used the JustRite Autumn Blessings set for the image of the Indian Corn and colored it with copics. This wasn't a favorite image of mine at first, but after I started coloring it, it came to life and I love it! Then I stamped the sentiment and border from the Give Thanks Nested Frames set and colored in the leaves and acorns with copics in various Fall colors. I can't tell you enough how much I really like these nested borders and sentiments sets. They are so versatile! The possibilities really are endless.

make a wish...

Hi there...it's been a busy house this weekend with soccer tournaments, parties and we were all off for the Labor Day holiday today so we went out and saw a movie and spent some quality time together. But I did manager to get a little paper crafting done!

I made this card with the Flutter By Wednesday challenge in mind, but it works for so many more too! I think I'm lovin' this beautiful fairy stamp that I have had just waiting to be inked up and colored in! I'm not done spending time with the kids before they head back to school tomorrow and have cheer and soccer practice, so I'll just let you have a look for yourself!

It's a busy night tonight, but I just wanted to stop in and share this one with you!
I was so excited when I saw the color challenge at JUGS this week...my all-time favorite colors!!!

Isn't this one of the cutest little scenes!?! I inked up this new (to me) Kraftin' Kimmie stamp, colored it with copics (listed below) and added a little sparkle with some DecoArt Glistening Snow Writer on the ice cream as a topping and a few dots of Pink Stickles on the little girl's bow for the Wild Orchid challenge!

I knew I had the perfect papers from MME for this color combination! I picked the Sweet Stampin sketch to use and added some lace for the Flourishes challenge too! A little sparkly metal heart for The Shabby Tea Room and a butterfly for the Flutter By Wednesday challenge and I think I'm done! Oh and I got all the requirements for the Crafty Creations recipe in here too! Whew!

Summer Fun...

Hi - I'm back with several cards tonight. I hate to post them all in one night, but with my work schedule, it's all I can do. So, this sweet pink card is for many challenges. I love it when that happens!

I started with this adorable little girl playing hopscotch...didn't you just love playing hopscotch on the playground and in the driveway or on the sidewalk...anywhere we could draw it! Anyway, this idea was inspired by the Flourishes Kids Play Challenge and of course there are several challenges asking for pink and pearls and anything girly this week, so it fits right in! I also goes along with the summer fun challenges too - hopscotch was so much fun as a kid and all you needed was a piece of chalk and a rock!

The papers are from a new paper pad by Tim Holtz called Vintage Shabby and you know I love vintage and shabby! It's all pinks and blues in various patterned vintage papers! I love it! (especially cause it was on sale at M's) So, I got my Bow Easy in the mail too - LOVE IT!!! A few pearls and a pearl scroll, a great sketch and you have it!

I hope you like it - I'll be back after dinner (my daughter's favorite - homemade chicken pot pie!) with more!

'tis the season...for Christmas in July cards!

Good Morning! I think my blogpost title says it all...'tis the season for Christmas in July cards!

Have you ever walked into your little crafty corner of the world just to "straighten up' and organize a few things and then you look at the clock and it has been 3 hours and you are still sitting there working on what should be a masterpiece after that much time? Well, that's what happened to me last night. I printed out a few Mo's Digital Pencil images and took them upstairs to my craft room. I was just going to leave them on the table, but I decided to tidy up a bit...the next thing I know, I have been sitting in there for hours because I decided to color just one of them and then I couldn't stop! And I would love to know how stamps, paper, flowers, ribbon and bling have an almost mystical power that takes over our bodies and we can't stop ourselves!!! Whatever it is...it makes me happy!

So, today I have a Christmas in July card to share with you. As I mentioned, I used a Mo's image called Christmas Fairy Holly and I colored it with the copics shown. This is my first time working with a digital image. The features in the image are so intricate and I am impressed with the details for sure! I love this little fairy with her holly wings and ruffly dress...so girly!

I decided to use my K & Co. Peppermint Twist papers for this one since they are glittery and have all the colors including pinks and aqua that I used in coloring my image. I added a little dot of Xmas Red Stickles to her holly hair accessory and a little Glossy Accents to make her water globe shine like real glass.
